Publication: Lise öğrencilerinin okul yönetimine katılımına ilişkin öğrenci ve yönetici görüşleri
Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğrencilerin okul yönetimine katılması ile ilgili olarak okul yöneticileri ve lise öğrencilerinin görüşlerini incelemektir. Hem okul yöneticileri hem de öğrencilere yönelik iki anket hazırlanarak hem okul yöneticileri hem de öğrencilerle görüşmeler yapılmıştır. 2003-2004 eğitim yılının ilk döneminde İstanbul'un Avrupa yakasında elli okul yöneticisi ve 500 öğrenci çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Yapılan istatistiksel analiz sonucunda aşağıdaki sonuçlar elde edilmiştir: ·Okul yöneticilerinin öğrenci katılımına yönelik değerlendirmeleri cinsiyet, yaş, deneyim ve eğitimle ilişkili olmamıştır. ·Öğrencilerin yarısından fazlası satranç, tiyatro ve matematik kulübüne katılmak istemektedir. Kulüp aktiviteleri öğretmen-yönetici işbirliğini başlatırken öğrenci katılımı gerçekleşmemiştir. ·Törenler, yöneticiler ile öğretmenlerin fikirlerine göre organize edilmiştir. ·Hem okul yöneticileri hem de öğretmenlere göre öğrenci temsilcilerinin seçimi demokratik tarzda yapılmıştır ·Sınıfların kalabalık olması ve her bir öğrenciye ayrılan zamanın sınırlı olması nedeniyle derslere katılım sınırlı olmuştur. ·Üniversite giriş sınavına hazırlıktan ötürü sosyal aktiviteler azalmıştır. ·Hem okul yöneticileri hem de öğretmenlerin yaklaşımı, öğrencilerin kararlara katılımından etkilenmiştir. Gençlerin demokratik bir topluma hazırlanmasına yönelik bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The purpose of this study is to scrutinise the opinions of principals and high school students about student participation to school management. Two questionnaire were deviced both for principals and students by having interviews with both for principals and students. Fifty principals and 500 students responded in the first term of the 2003-2004 academic year in European side of Istanbul. After having statistical analysis following results were reached: oAssesment of students participation by principals were not related to their sex, age, experience, education. oMore than half of the students join to chest, theatre, Math club. Club activities starts teacher-principals cooperation, student participation was not occur. oThe ceremonies was orginised according to the ideas of principals and teacher. oElection of student represantative was democratic, according to both principals and students. oParticipation to the lesson were limited due to the large class size and limited time allocated for each student. oSocial activities decreased, due to preparation for university entrance exam. oThe approach of the principals and teachers were affected the students1 joining to the decisions. Sume reccomendation were made to prepare youngsters to a democratic society.
