A novel classification approach based on multicriteria decision aiding

Abstract

Çok Kriterli Karar Destekli (ÇKKD) yaklaşım, öncelikle seçme ve sıralamaproblemlerinin çözümünde kullanılsa da, daha sonra sınıflandırma problemlerini de elealacak şekilde geliştirilmiştir. ÇKKD sınıflandırma problemi, alternatiflerin birçok kriterçerçevesinde önceden belirlenmiş kategorilere atanmasını ifade etmektedir. ÇKKDsınıflandırma yöntemleri karar vericinin tercih, deneyim ve yargılarıyla karar sürecinedâhil olmasına imkân sağlamasıyla klasik sınıflandırma yöntemlerinden ayrılmaktadır.Tez kapsamında, öncelikle ÇKKD sınıflandırma yöntemleri ile ilgili literatürincelenmiştir. Literatürden hareketle, seçme ve sıralama problemlerinde sıklıklakullanılan Gri İlişkisel Analiz yöntemine dayalı nominal ve sıralı sınıflama yapabilen ikiÇKKD sınıflandırma yöntemi önerilmiştir. Önerilen yöntemlerin karar verici tarafındankolay bir şekilde kullanımını sağlamak amacıyla arayüz geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilenarayüz aracılığıyla OECD ve Avrupa Birliği Ülkeleri eğitim hizmet kriterlerine göresınıflandırılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar analiz edilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır.

Multicriteria Decision Aiding (MCDA) approach has been developed primarily toaddress selection and ranking problems, then it is also used to solve classificationproblems. MCDA classification problem refers to the assignment of alternatives topredetermined categories within the framework of many criteria. MCDA classificationmethods are distinguished from the classical classification methods by enabling thedecision maker to include in the decision process with his preferences, experience andjudgments. Within the scope of the thesis, firstly the literature about MCDA classificationmethods has been examined. In the light of the literature, two MCDA classificationmethods that can perform nominal and ordinal classification based on Grey RelationalAnalysis method, which is frequently used in selection and sorting problems, areproposed. An interface design has been developed in order to facilitate the use of theproposed methods by the decision maker. OECD and European Union Countries areclassified according to educational service criteria through the designed interface. Theresults obtained were analyzed and interpreted.
