Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar düşüncesinde kültürel kimlik “Mahur Beste” romanı örneği

Abstract

ÖZHazırlanan tez çalışması, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’ın Mahur Beste romanını kültürel kimlik kapsamında incelemektedir. Çalışmanın hipotezi, Mahur Beste romanında Türk kültürel kimliğinin Doğu ve Batı uygarlıklarının ortak etkisiyle biçimlenen eklektik ve bağdaştırıcı bir yapı olarak ortaya koyulduğu iddiasıdır. Bu hipotezi ispatlamak için niteliksel bir araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak Mahur Beste romanı analiz edilmiştir. Romanda ifadesini bulan düşüncelerin toplumsal gerçekliğe uygunluğunu tutarlı şekilde ortaya koyabilmek için sanat eseri ile toplumsal gerçeklik arasındaki dolayım sorunu çeşitli kuramcıların görüşlerinden istifade edilerek tartışılmış; bu kapsamda, romanda dile getirilen düşüncelerin toplumsal gerçeklikle uyarlı olduğu tez kapsamında ortaya koyulmuştur. Tez çalışmasında, Doğu ve Batı uygarlıklarının ortak etkisiyle biçimlenen Türk kimliğinin tarih ve coğrafyanın meydana getirdiği bir sentez olarak Mahur Beste romanında tanıtıldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

ABSTRACTThis thesis examines Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's Mahur Beste novel within the context of cultural identity. The hypotheses of the study is that Turkish cultural identity is addressed in the novel Mahur Beste in an eclectic and adaptive structure shaped by the common influence of Eastern and Western civilizations. The study uses qualitative research method to analyze the novel. To be able to demonstrate consistently that the expressions in the novel are in accordance with social reality, the study touches upon the writings of various theorists with regard to mediation problem between the art work and the social relationship. The thesis concludes that the Turkish identity, formed by the common influence of Eastern and Western civilizations, had been introduced in the novel Mahur Beste as a synthesis created by the history and geography.
