Işığın simgesi olarak sarı rengin kavramsal etkinliği ve sanat eğitimindeki yeri

Abstract

IŞIĞIN SİMGESİ OLARAK SARI RENGİN KAVRAMSAL ETKİNLİĞİ VE SANAT EĞİTİMİNDEKİ YERİ “Işığın Sembolü Olarak Sarı Rengin Kavramsal Etkinliği ve Sanat Eğitimindeki Yeri” isimli bu doktora tez çalışmasında, ışık ve ona bağlı renk olgusu fiziksel ve kimyasal yönleriyle ele alınmış, sarı rengin ışığın sembolü olarak güzel sanatlardaki önemi, yaşamsal değeri ve çocuk resmindeki yeri incelenmiştir. Her açıdan incelenen sarı rengin, elde edilen verilerle toplumdaki anlamının, sanat ve sanat eğitimindeki yerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Görsel algılamada önemli olan ışık ve ona bağlı renk olgusu, gözün anatomik yapısının işlevi olarak da ele alınmıştır. Görme olayının fizyolojik yönü ele alındıktan sonra başta sarı renk olmak üzere rengin toplumsal yönü, siyasal sistemdeki yeri, inanç sistemindeki önemi, psikolojik etkileri, şifresel özellikleri ile insan yaşamındaki serüveni araştırılmıştır. Renk ve ışık üzerine geliştirilmiş teoriler ile felsefi görüşlerden yola çıkılmış, renk dizgeleri ele alınmış, bilimsel bir bakış açısı getirilmiştir. Renk skalası içerisinde sarı rengin çok boyutlu araştırılmasına paleolitik dönemden başlanılmış günümüze kadar olan süreçteki dikkat çekici sanat eserleri incelenmiştir. Sarı renk çeşitleri tespit edilerek onun diğer renklerle olan fenomeni açıklanmıştır. Eğitim uygulama çalışmaları, İstanbul ili Kartal İlçesinin üç ilköğretim okulunun 7. sınıflarında bulunan 100 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uygulanan anketlerden elde edilen veriler istatiksel olarak değerlendirilmiş, resimlerdeki sarı renk kullanımları ve diğer renklerle birlikteliği yorumlanmış ve anlamlı bir sonuca varılmıştır. Anketler ve resim etkinliği genel tarama modeli ile değerlendirilmiştir. Resimlerin çoğunluğunda sarı rengin doğal ve yapay ışık kaynaklarının tasvirinde kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Tez süresi boyunca yapılan araştırmalar, incelemeler ve elde edilen bulgulara göre sarı renk birçok ülkede ışığın sembolü olarak kabul edilmiş, sanat eserlerinde genellikle doğal, yapay ve kutsal ışık anlamlarında kullanıldığı görülmüştür. Bu gibi yorum ve benzetmelerin çocuk resimlerinde de ağırlıklı olarak yer aldığı tespit edilmiştir. Anahtar Sözcükler: Sarı, renk, ışık, sanat, eğitim.

“THE CONCEPTUAL INFLUENCE OF THE COLOUR YELLOW AS THE SYMBOL OF LIGHT AND ITS PART IN ARTS EDUCATION” In this doctoral thesis titled The Conceptual Influence of the Colour Yellow as the Symbol of Light and Its Place in Art”, I handled light and colour in terms of their physical and chemical features and elaborated on the importance of yellow as the symbol of light in fine arts, its value in life and its place in child pictures. Analyzing the colour yellow in many aspects, I aimed at ascertaining its conceptual interpretation in society and its place in art and art education through the comprehensive data obtained. I also handled light, occupying an essential part in visual perception, and colour in relation to it as the roles of the eye’s anatomical structure. After touching upon the physiological aspect of sight, I studied the role of colour, particularly the colour yellow, in history to reveal its social and political dimensions, its importance in belief system, its psychological effects, its cryptic properties and its adventure in human life. Moreover, starting with the theories and philosophical arguments on colour and light, I tried to shed light on colour systems in a scientific way. I did a comprehensive research on the colour yellow in the colour scale, tracing its roots back to Paleolithic times and examined the outstanding art works. I explained the phenomenon of yellow with other colours by identifying the main shades of yellow. Educational appliance studies were conducted with one hundred 7th- grade students at three primary school in Kartal, Istanbul. The obtained data were statistically evaluated. The students’ uses of the colour yellow and its combinations with other colours were also assessed. The mentioned surveys and picture activities were assessed through general scanning model. All these activities enabled me to determine that the colour yellow was used for the portrayal of the natural and superficial light sources in most of the pictures. In my thesis period including researches, analysis, studies performed and in the data obtained, I found out that the colour yellow is mainly used for the representation of the natural, artificial or holy light and is accepted the symbol of light in many countries. Besides, I detected that children predominately use these interpretations and comparisons in their pictures. Key Words: Yellow, colour, light, art, education.
