Değişim ve süreklilik bağlamında tarihsel ve güncel fotoğrafları/ kanıtları okumak : hayat bilgisi dersi temelinde bir eylem araştırması

Abstract

Günümüzde en sık karşı karşıya kaldığımız durum, değişim… Yetişkinlerin dünyasında kolayca kabullenilen bu duruma çocukların bakış açısı nasıldır peki? Değişim bir kere mi olur? Bir varlık sadece bir kere mi değişir? Değişen şey bu dönüşümden sonra varlığını hep bu şekilde mi sürdürür? Her değişim olumlu mudur ya da her değişim gerekli midir? Değişim ve süreklilik hakkında sorabileceğimiz çok fazla soru ve hala aradığımız çok fazla cevap vardır. Tüm bu bilinmezliklerin ışığında ve merakında, bu çalışmanın amacı, Hayat Bilgisi dersinin öğretimi esnasında, değişim ve süreklilik algısı bağlamında tarihsel ve güncel fotoğrafları/ kanıtları okumak ve bu sayede öğrencilere değişim ve sürekliliği algılama becerisini kazandırmaktır. Bu temel amaca yönelik aşağıdaki sorulara yanıt aranmıştır: 1.Öğrencilerin değişim ve süreklilik kavramı ile görsel okuma kavramlarına ilişkin ön ve son algı anketlerine göre bakış açılarındaki değişim nasıldır? 2.Öğrencilerin uygulanan öğretim evesindeki sınıf içi iletişim ile etkinliklerinin nitelikleri nasıldır? 3.Öğrencilerin ve öğretmenin uygulanan öğretim programına ilişkin bakış açıları ve değerlendirmeleri nasıldır? Hayat Bilgisi dersinin öğretimi esnasında, değişim ve süreklilik algısı bağlamında tarihsel ve güncel fotoğrafları/ kanıtları okumak ve bu sayede öğrencilere değişim ve sürekliliği algılama becerisini kazandırmak amacıyla araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntem ve tekniklerinden olan eylem araştırması deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırma İstanbul’un Sultanbeyli ilçesindeki bir devlet okulunda öğrenim gören 3. sınıf öğrencilerinden 35 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın uygulanması ve değerlendirilmesi aşamalarında veri toplama aracı olarak, ön algı anketi, çalışma yaprakları, ders video kayıt ve dokümanları, araştırmacı günlüğü, öğrenci günlükleri, öğretmen görüşme formu, son algı anketi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi ve betimsel analiz tekniği ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonunda elde edilecek bulgular ışığında, görsel okuma ve görsel materyaller kullanılarak hazırlanan bir eğitim öğretim ortamının, Hayat Bilgisi dersi öğretimine etkisi ve öğrencilerin değişim ve sürekliliği algılama becerisi kazanması üzerindeki katkısı irdelenmiştir.

The most common situation we face today is change. What is the perspective of children on this situation, which is easily accepted in the world of adults? Does change happen once? Does an entity change only once? Does the thing that has changed always continue to exist in this way after this transformation? Is all change positive or is all change necessary? There are so many questions we can ask about change and continuity, and so many answers we are still looking for. In the light and curiosity of all these obscurities, the aim of this study is to read historical and current photographs/ evidence in the context of the perception of change and continuity during the teaching of the Life Studies course, and thus to gain the students the ability to perceive change and continuity. For this main purpose, answers to the following questions were sought: 1. How did the students' perspectives on the concept of change and continuity and the concepts of visual reading change according to the pre- and post-perception surveys? 2. What are the qualities of the students' in-class communication and activities within the framework of the applied curriculum? 3. What are the perspectives and evaluations of the students and the teacher regarding the applied curriculum? During the teaching of the Life Studies course, the action research design, which is one of the qualitative research methods and techniques, was used in the research in order to read the historical and current photographs/ evidence in the context of the perception of change and continuity and thus to enable students to gain the ability to perceive change and continuity. The research was carried out with 35 3rd grade students studying at a public school in Sultanbeyli district of Istanbul. Pre-perception questionnaire, worksheets, course video recordings and documents, researcher diary, student diaries, teacher interview form, and final perception questionnaire were used as data collection tools during the implementation and evaluation stages of the research. The obtained data were analyzed with content analysis and descriptive analysis techniques. In the light of the findings to be obtained at the end of the research, the effect of an educational environment prepared by using visual reading and visual materials on the teaching of Life Sciences course and the contribution of students to gain the ability to perceive change and continuity were examined.
