Publication: Bir tıp fakültesindeki öğretim üyesi, uzman ve asistan doktorların sürekli mesleki gelişim kavramına bakış açılarının değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, bir tıp fakültesinde çalışan öğretim üyesi, uzman ve asistan doktorların sürekli meslek gelişim kavramına bakış açılarının değerlendirilmesidir. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu araştırma, Ağustos 2007 tarihinde Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde görevli olan ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 152 öğretim üyesi, uzman ve asistan doktorla yürütüldü. Veriler 40 soru ve 3 bölümden oluşan Sürekli Mesleki Gelişim Anketi’nin yüzyüze görüşme tekniği uygulanması yoluyla toplandı. Bulgular: Katılımcıların %67.8’inin sürekli tıp eğitimi, %7.9’unun da sürekli meslek gelişimi ile ilgili bilgisi vardı. Katılımcıların %45.4’ü sürekli tıp eğitimi etkinliklerine katıldıklarını bildirmişti ve sürekli meslek gelişimi etkinliklerine katılamama nedeni olarak en çok (%44.7) etkinliklerden haberlerinin olmamasını belirtmişlerdi. En çok katılımda bulunulan etkinlik %66.4 ile bölüm içi eğitim etkinlikleri iken, en çok (%49.2) kongre içerisindeki kurslar başarılı eğitim etkinlikleri olarak değerlendirildi. Sonuç: Araştırmamıza katılanların sürekli tıp eğitimi bilgi düzeyleri yüksek iken sürekli meslek gelişimi bilgi düzeyleri düşüktür. Sürekli meslek gelişimi etkinliklerine katılım açısından hekimlerin desteklenmesi ve motive edilmesi hekimlerin kendileri ve sağlık sistemi açısından önem taşımaktadır.

Method: This descriptive research was performed on 152 academic medical staff and residents who was accepted to participate in the study in a medical faculty in August 2007. Study data was collected through face to face interviews by a questionnaire made up of three parts and 40 questions. Results: Sixty-seven point eight percent of the participants were informed about the continuing medical education and 7.9% of them were informed about continuing professional development. 45.4% participated in activities concerning continuing medical education. The factor negatively affecting participation in activities was lack of information (44.7%). Educational activities inside the department were found as the activities most frequented, 66.4% and courses in the congresses were found as the most effective educational activities (49.2%). Conclusion: The participants were well-informed about continuing medical education, while their knowledge about continuing professional development was low. Inducing and motivating doctors for participating in continuing professional development activities is critically important for both doctors and health care system.
