Publication: Ortaokul 1. sınıf öğrencilerinin yansıtıcı düşünme beceri düzeylerinin incelenmesi
Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı; ortaokul 1. sınıf öğrencilerinin yansıtıcı düşünme beceri düzeylerini incelemek, cinsiyet, yaş, okul türü gibi çeşitli değişkenlere göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğini saptamaktır. Araştırmada nicel ve nitel yöntemin bir arada olduğu karma araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2014-2015 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul ilindeki okullarda öğrenim gören ortaokul 1. sınıf öğrencileri, örneklemini ise İstanbul ilindeki çeşitli devlet ve özel ortaokullarının 1. sınıfında öğrenim gören 523 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda veri toplama aracı olarak “Kişisel Bilgiler Formu” ve Demirbaş (2012) tarafından geliştirilen “İlköğretim 4. ve 5. Sınıf Öğrencileri için Yansıtıcı Düşünme Beceri Düzeyi Ölçeği (YDD)” den yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel boyutunda ise araştırmaya ilişkin daha derinlemesine bilgi almak ve nicel sonuçların desteklenmesi amacıyla “Açık Uçlu Soru Anketi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda kullanılan veri toplama araçlarından elde edilen veriler SPSS İstatistik Paket kullanılarak, nitel boyutunda ise açık uçlu anketten elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yapılarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda ortaokul 1. sınıf öğrencilerinin yansıtıcı düşünme beceri düzeyleri oldukça yüksek çıkmıştır. Sonuçlar göstermiştir ki; kızların yansıtıcı düşünme beceri düzeyleri erkeklere göre, özel okullarda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin yansıtıcı düşünme beceri düzeyleri devlet okullarında öğrenim gören öğrencilere göre daha yüksektir. Ayrıca annesi çalışmayan öğrencilerin annesi çalışan öğrencilere göre yansıtıcı düşünme beceri düzeyleri daha yüksek çıkmıştır. Öğrencilerin yansıtıcı düşünme beceri düzeyleri ise yaşa, okul öncesi eğitim alıp almama, kardeş sayısına ve anne-baba eğitim durumuna göre ise anlamlı bir farklılık göstermemiştir. The aim of this research is to examine reflective thinking skills levels of first grade secondary school students and to determine whether there is a significant difference between reflective thinking skills levels of students and the variables such as sex, age, type of school. İn this research, mixed research methods which is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods were used. The universe of research is made up first grade secondary school students being educated in schools of İstanbul county in 2014-2015 academic year and the sample of research is made up 523 students being educated in first grade of various public and private secondary schools of İstanbul county. in the quantitative aspects of research, “Reflecting Thinking Skills Level Scale for the 4th and the 5th Grade (YDD)” which was developed by Demirbaş (2012) and “Personal İnformation Form” was used as data collection mean. The “Open-Ended Questionnaire” was used in order to obtain information more detailed for the research and to support the quantitative results in qualitative aspects of research. The data are obtained from the scale were analyzed by using the program Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. The data also are obtained from an open-ended questionnaire were analyzed by doing content analysis in qualitative aspects of research. According to the result of research, reflective thinking skills levels of first grade secondary school students are quite high. The research results show that; the reflective thinking skills levels of girl students are higher than boy students and the reflective thinking skills levels of students who being educated at private schools are higher than students who being educated at public schools. Also, the reflective thinking skills levels of students who don’t work their mother are higher than students who work their mother. The reflective thinking skills levels of students were not showed a significant difference in terms of age, get to preschool education and not get, number of sibling and mother and father education status.
