Okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının mesleki algıları ile geleceğe yönelik umut düzeylerinin karşılaştırılması

Abstract

OKUL ÖNCESİ ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ MESLEKİ ALGILARI İLE GELECEĞE YÖNELİK UMUT DÜZEYLERİNİN KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI Ülkemizde okul öncesi öğretmen ihtiyaçlarını karşılayan meslek liseleri Çocuk Gelişimi ve Eğitimi Bölümleri ile üniversitelerin Okul Öncesi Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dallarında öğrenim görmekte olan son sınıf öğrencilerinin mesleki algıları ve umut düzeylerini karşılaştırmak üzere yapılmış olan bu araştırmada; öğrencilere araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Mesleki Algı Ölçeği ile Seber tarafından Türkçe’ye çevrilen Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin mesleki algılarının olumlu olduğu; ancak mesleklerinin MAÖ’ nün İş Yaşamına İlişkin Maddi Boyutu ile tespit edilmeye çalışılan yönünü, İş Yaşamına İlişkin Duygusal Boyutu ile tespit edilmeye çalışılan yönünden daha olumlu algıladıkları ve umutsuzluk düzeylerinin düşük olduğu görülmüştür. Meslek lisesi öğrencileri okumakta oldukları bölümü ve mesleklerinin maddi yönünü, üniversite öğrencilerinden; Boğaziçi Üniversitesi öğrencileri ise mesleklerini, mesleklerinin maddi ve manevi yönlerini Marmara Üniversitesi öğrencilerinden daha olumlu algılamaktadırlar. Üniversite öğrencilerinin umutsuzluk düzeyleri, meslek lisesi öğrencilerinden düşüktür. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; öğrencilerin ilgi ve yeteneklerine göre eğitim görmelerinin sağlanacağı bir mesleki yönlendirme sistemi kurulmalı; başarılı ve uygun öğrenciler öğretmenlik mesleğine yöneltilmeli; orta öğretim düzeyinde seçilen uygun adayların, amacı öğretmen yetiştirmek olan bir kurumda eğitim almaları sağlanmalı; üniversiteye gelen öğrencilerin, mesleğe uygunlukları değerlendirilmeli; yardımcı öğretmenlerin eğitimlerini sürdürmeleri teşvik edilmeli ve okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında orta öğretim mezunlarının yardımcı öğretmenlik dışında sınıf öğretmenliği yapmalarının kademeli olarak önüne geçilmeli; öğretmenlik mesleğinin toplumdaki saygınlığı arttırılarak tercih edilecek bir meslek haline dönüştürülmeli; konuyla ilgili kapsamlı araştırmalar yapılmalıdır.

THE COMPARISON OF PROFESSIONAL PERCEPTION OF PRESCHOOL TEACHERS AND THEIR HOPE LEVELS ORIENTED TOWARDS FUTURE In this study which was made for comparing professional perception and hope levels of senior students of department of Child Development and Education of vocational high schools and Main Science Branch of Preschool Teaching of Universities those meets the preschool teacher requirement in our country Professional Perception Scale developed by the researcher and Beck Hopelessness Scale translated into Turkish by Seber were applied to the students. As the result of the study it was seen that the students have affirmative professional perception, but they perceive the aspect that was tried to be determined by Material Dimension Regarding Professional Life PPS than the aspect that was tried to be determined by Emotional Dimension Regarding Professional Life and their hopelessness level was low. Vocational high school students perceive the department that they are in and material aspect of their profession more affirmative than university students and the students of Bosporus University perceive their profession, material and moral aspects of their profession more affirmative than the students of Marmara University. The hopelessness level of university students is lower than vocational high school students. According to the results of the study a professional orientation system must be established that students will be educated according to their interests and abilities, successful and suitable students must be oriented towards teaching profession, the selected suitable candidates in secondary education level must be ensured to get education in an organization having the purpose for training teachers, the suitability of the students those come to universities to the profession must be assessed, the maintenance of assistant teachers their education must be encouraged and being class teacher except for being assistant teacher of secondary school graduates in preschool training organizations must be prevented by progressive stages; by increasing social reputability of teaching profession it must be converted to a preferable profession, comprehensive studies related with the subject must be carried out.
