TÜRK SİGORTA SEKTÖRÜNÜN PROMETHEE YÖNTEMİ İLE FİNANSAL PERFORMANS ANALİZİ

Abstract

Performans ölçümü; sistemin kaynaklarını ekonomik, etkin, kârlı ve verimli şekilde kullanmasını hedefleyen, eksiklerin tespitine ve iyileştirme uygulamalarının geliştirilmesine temel teşkil eden bir yaklaşımdır. Diğer tüm sektörlerde olduğu gibi sigorta sektöründe de problemleri tespit etmede, çeşitli değişkenler boyutunda hedeflere yönelik yeni stratejiler oluşturmada finansal performans analizleri sıklıkla uygulanmaktadır. Ekonomik, endüstriyel, finansal ya da sosyal konulara ilişkin çok sayıda karar verme süreci birden fazla kriter içermektedir. Bu kriterler doğrultusunda karar verme sürecinin rasyonel kararlarla sonlandırılabilmesi için analitik çözüm yöntemlerine ihtiyaç duyulmakta ve çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinden yararlanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada finansal performans ölçümlemelerinde sıklıkla kullanılan PROMETHEE yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Bu yöntem, belirlenen kriterler çerçevesinde en iyi alternatifin seçilmesi için geliştirilmiş olup karar vericilere problemle ilgili tüm verileri kolay anlaşılabilir bir tabloda görme imkânı sunmaktadır.Bu çalışmada, Türk Sigorta Sektöründe hayat dışı branşlarda faaliyet gösteren şirketlerin 2010-2013 dönemine ait bilanço verileri doğrultusunda performansları incelenmiştir. Yıllar bazında hayat dışı sigorta şirketlerine ait performans sıralamaları karşılaştırılarak istikrarlı şirketlerin yanı sıra istikrarsız şirketler de belirlenerek bu şirketlerin performanslarının değişiminde rol oynayan değişkenlere bağlı olarak olası nedenler tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu değişkenlerdeki olası iyileştirmeler doğrultusunda uygulayabilecekleri politikalar da öneri olarak sunulmuştur

Performance measurement is an approach targeting use of the resources of the system economically, actively, profitably and efficiently and that is the basis of the identification of deficiencies and development of improvement applications. Financial performance analyses are frequently used in order to detect problems, to create new strategies for targets in terms of several variables in the insurance sector as in all other sectors. Many decision-making processes related to economic, industrial, financial or social issues involve multiple criteria. In line with these criteria, analytical solution methods are needed to finalize the decision making process by rational decisions and multi-criteria decision-making processes are used. PROMETHEE method frequently used in financial performance measurements is used in this study. This method has been developed in accordance with the predetermined criteria for selecting the best alternative, and offers decision makers the opportunity to see all data related to the problem on an easily understandable table.In this study, performances of the companies operating in the non-life industry in Turkish Insurance Sector were examined in line with the data sheet for the time period 2010 to 2013. By comparing the performance rankings of non-life insurance companies on the basis of years, possible causes are determined depending on the variables involved in the change of the performance of these companies by determining stable companies, as well as unstable companies. In addition, policies they can apply in accordance with the potential improvements in these variables are offered as suggestions
