Edirneli Ağazâde Örfî Mahmûd’un Mefhumü’t-Tevârih adlı eserinin II. cildi transkripsiyonu

Abstract

Çalışmanın ilk kısımlarında Edirneli Ağazade Mahmud Örfi’nin hayatı ve eserlerinden kısaca söz edildikten sonra Mefhumü’t-Tevarih adlı eseri için ayrı bir başlık açılmış ve eser tamamıyla tanıtılmıştır. Asıl kısım olan transkripsiyon kısmına gelindiğinde ise eserin çevirisi orijinal nüshada düzensiz ve bazı yerleri silinmiş olduğundan kopya nüsha üzerinden karşılaştırmalı olarak ve bağlantı kurularak çevirisi tamamlanmıştır. Kopya nüshada daha açık ve belirli bir düzen içinde yazılmış olup orijinal nüshadaki dağınık ve okunamayan kısmı buraya tablo olarak eklenmiştir.Sonuç olarak da eserin müellifi, Sultân I. Ahmed’in tahta geçişi ile başlayarak Sultân IV.Mehmed’in ilk yıllarına kadar olan dönemin önemli olaylarını, bazen detaylı bir anlatımla bazen de kısa ve öz bir anlatımla yazmıştır. Müellifin, kendine göre önemli gördüğü olayları aktarmış olduğu ve yaklaşık yarım asırı ele alan bu eseri kısa, pratik bir üslûpla ele aldığı sonucuna varılmıştır.

Born in Edirne, Ağazade Mahmud Örfi dedicated his life to detect 17th century of Ottoman Empire. One of the important works that he left behind, Mefhumü't Tevarih, is considered a historical and political source. In the first part of the study, after the shortly presentation of his life and works, another chapter is written for his work Mefhumü’t Tevarih and explained clearly. When it comes to transcription part which is the principal part, due to the scattered and unclear written of the original version of work the translation progress was made by linking and comparing with a copy version which is clear and well organized. The copy version which is more clear and specific than the original version was written in an organized style and the part of contents is including a table of unclear and scattered parts of the original version. In conclusion with the beginning of I.Ahmed’s reign, the author of the work is started to write till to the first years of IV.Mehmed’s reign. Mostly he wrote about major events of eras sometimes in a detail, sometimes in a summarized style.The author wrote about the events that were important to him, and it was concluded that the work, which included a half-century of history, was written in a practical and concise way.
