Abstract

İçinde bulunduğumuz yüzyılda yapay zeka alanında yaşanan devrimler, bazı bilim insanlarınca evrenin doğuşu ve yaşamın başlangıcından sonra yaşanan en büyük gelişme olarak adlandırıldı. Yapay zeka alanındaki gelişmeler, birçok sektörle beraber, gazeteciliği de derinden etkiledi. Yapay zeka teknolojilerinin gazeteciliğe girişiyle geleneksel gazetecilik yöntemleri büyük bir dönüşüm geçirdi. Bu dönüşümle beraber gazetecilikte, algoritmik habercilik ve makine öğrenmesi gibi kavramlar ortaya çıktı. Bilişim sektöründe yaşanan gelişmelerin getirdiği kolaylıklar veri gazeteciliğini de dönüştürdü. These advancements in artificial intelligence have exerted a profound influence not only on various industries but also on the field of journalism. The integration of artificial intelligence technologies into journalism has engendered a substantial transformation in conventional journalistic methodologies. This transformation has given rise to concepts such as algorithmic journalism and machine learning within the realm of journalism. Concurrently, the information technology sector's developments have brought about notable conveniences, which have, in turn, revolutionized data journalism. To investigate the developments within the journalism sector, an inquiry into disparate facets has been undertaken. These encompass the evolution of news production, the diverse applications of new technologies, their implications for journalism ethics, the ramifications on employment dynamics, and the adaptations necessitated by the innovations in digital journalism. It has become evident that the field of data journalism frequently demands nothing more than internet access for data collection and analysis. Particularly noteworthy is the extent of sophistication attained by artificial intelligence programs in the contemporary era, as exemplified through customized AI-supported visual and textual experiments employing programs like GPT-4 and Midjourney. Subsequent to these examples, an analysis has been conducted to elucidate how artificial intelligence programs can be harnessed effectively in journalism. Furthermore, it has been discerned that the transformation within the journalism sector could potentially lead to the displacement of numerous journalists engaged in mundane tasks such as reporting on sports scores or weather conditions. A comprehensive study of the training provided to journalists worldwide in the realms of information technology, artificial intelligence, and data journalism has been undertaken. It has been ascertained that journalists who adapt and enhance their skills can potentially avoid unemployment, becoming adept professionals aligned with the evolving demands of the industry.
