Publication: 12 yaş çocuklarında denetim odağını etkileyen bazı değişkenlerin incelenmesi
Abstract
Bu araştırma, 12 yaş çocuklarının denetim odağını etkileyen bazı değişkenlerin incelenmesi amacı ile yapılmıştır. Bu değişkenler sırasıyla cinsiyet, ailedeki doğum sırası, annenin çalışma durumu, ailenin sosyo-ekonomik seviyesi, annenin ve babanın eğitim durumu, annenin ve babanın denetim odağı düzeyi olarak ele alınmıştır. Araştırmada ayrıca çocuk tarafından algılanan anne davranışları ile annenin denetim odağı düzeyi arasında bir farklılığın olup olmadığının incelenmesi de amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma 1999-2000 eğitim-öğretim yılında gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlişkisel tarama modeline göre yapılan araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul İli Avrupa yakasında, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı olarak öğretim yapan resmi ve özel ilköğretim okullarının 6.sınıflarında okumakta olan öğrenciler oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 1999-2000 öğretim yılında İstanbul İli Avrupa yakasında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı olarak öğretim yapan üçü resmi, dördü özel 7 ilköğretim okulunun 6.sınflarında okuyan 161'i kız, 157'si erkek toplam 318 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın veri toplama aşamasında, öğrencilerin denetim odağının yönünün belirlenmesinde Nowicki-Strickland Denetim Odağı Ölçeği, algılanan anne davranışlarının belirlenmesinde Algılanan Anne-Baba Davranışları Envanteri (AAD), anne ve babaların denetim odağının düzeyinin belirlenmesinde Rotter'in İç-Dış Denetim Odağı Ölçeği (RİDDOÖ) kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca öğrenciler ve anne-babaları hakkında bazı kişisel bilgileri toplamak amacıyla Kişisel Bilgi Toplama Çizelgesi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde, Excell, Windows İstatistik Paket Programındaki t-testi, bir boyutlu varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre; cinsiyet, annenin çalışma durumu, ailenin sosyo-ekonomik seviyesi, babanın ve annenin eğitim düzeyi ile öğrencilerin denetim odağı puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunamadığı görülürken, ailedeki doğum sırasına göre öğrencilerin denetim odağı puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca çocuk tarafından anneye ait olarak algılanan ilgi-şefkat gösterme, amaçlara ulaşmada yardımcı olma, tutarlı disiplin, koruyuculuk, fiziksel cezalandırma, başarı için baskı davranışı ile annenin denetim odağı düzeyi arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmadığı görülürken; duygusal cezalandırma davranışı ile annenin denetim odağı düzeyi arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
The aims of this study are to research on some variables which affect the locus of control of 12-year-old children. These variables have respectively dealt with as gender, rank of birth in the family, mother's professional background, socioeconomic level of the family and educational level of the parents and the level of locus of control the parents. The research also evaluates whether there is a difference between perceived mother's behaviours for children and the level of locus of control of mothers. The research was carried out during the 1999-2000 Academic Year. The 6th class students attending puclic and private primary schools that are under the control of Ministry of Education and situated in the European part of İstanbul constitute the universe of the research which is carried out according to Relational Scanning Model. The sampe of the research is composed of 318 students-161 girls and 157 boys-attending the 6th class of seven different primary schools four of which are private. These primary schools are under the supervision of Ministry of Education and are situated in the European part of İstanbul. During the data collection stage of the research, Nowıckı-Strıckland Locus of Control Scale was used to determine the direction of students' Locus of Control, Perceived Parental Questionnaire was used to determine the mother's perceived behaviour, and Rotter's Internal-External Locus of Control Scale was used to determine the level of locus of control of the parents direction. Besides, Personal Data Collection Chart was used to collect some personal information about the students and their parents. To analyse the collected data; t-test, One- Way Variance Analysis in Excell Windows statistics packet were used. According to the results of the study, there is no evidence of any significant differences between gender, mother's professional background, the socio-economic level of the family, the educational level of the parents, the level of locus of control of the parents and the direction of locus of control of the students according to the rank of birth in family. Besides, it is not found that significant difference between the mother's perceived behavior of care and offection, of helping her children to achive their gools, consistent disipline, protection, physical punishment, pressure for success and the level of mother's between the level of mother's locus of control and affective punishment behaviour.
