Publication: Yeşilçam filmlerinde genç kadın temsili
Abstract
Bu tez çalışmasında 1960-1970 yılları arasında Yeşilçam sinemasında genç kadınlarınnasıl temsil edildiği irdelenmiş ve bu çerçevede filmlerin algılanmasında toplumsalcinsiyet rollerinin etkisi sorgulanmıştır. Bu bağlamda Yeşilçam döneminde özelliklegenç kadın karakterlerin yaygın kültüre uyum sağlayacak şekilde temsil edilipedilmedikleri, bu temsil biçimlerinin izleyicinin fikirlerini nasıl ve ne yönde etkilediği vesinemanın toplumsal belleği dönüştürme potansiyelinin olup olmadığı, çalışmanın temelsorunlarını oluşturmuştur.Araştırma boyunca, birçok Yeşilçam filmindeki cinsiyet rollerine değinilmiş, ayrıca bufilmlerden genç kadınların özne konumunda olduğu üç film seçilerek Ingolf Gabold’unYapısal Film Çözümlemesi Yöntemiyle Derinlemesine Analizler gerçekleştirilmiştir.Ardından toplumda farklı demografik özelliklere sahip kişiler seçilerek Odak GrupGörüşmesi Yöntemiyle hem bu kişilerin genç kadınların temsiline yönelik bakış açısı,hem sinemayı hayatlarında nereye konumlandırdıkları hem de bu filmlerdeki genç kadınkarakterlere karşı düşüncelerini öğrenmeye yönelik görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir.Sonuçta, yapılan görüşmeler ve çözümlemeler ışığında bu çalışmada incelenen Yeşilçamfilmlerinin, Türkiye’de genç kadınların temsili bağlamında dolaylı olarak etkili olduğusaptanmıştır. Ayrıca, sinemanın kalıp yargıların azalması açısından bir potansiyele sahipolduğu çalışmanın temel bulguları arasındadır.
In this thesis, on 1960-1970, the subject of the representation of young women inYeşilçam films has been discussed in terms of gender literature and the role of films inthe perception of gender roles is examined. In this context, the main questions of the studyare whether specifically young female characters are represented in the Yeşilçam periodin order to adapt to the dominant ideology, how these representations affect the audience'sideas and whether cinema has the potential to transform social memory.Throughout the research, gender roles in many Yeşilçam films were addressed and threefilms in which young women are the main subject were selected and analyzed in depthby Ingolf Gabold's Structural Film Analysis Method. Then, people with differentdemographic characteristics were selected by Focus Group İnterview Method andinterviews were conducted to find out their perspective on gender roles, where they placedthe cinema in their lives and their thoughts about young female characters in these films.As a result, interviews and analysis examined in the light of the Yeşilçam films in thisstudy, in the context of the representation of young women in Turkey have been found tobe effective indirectly. In addition, it is one of the main findings of the study that cinemahas a potential for decreasing stereotypes.
