Publication: Öğrencilerin Grafik Tasarımda İmge ve Simgeleri Kullanma Becerilerinin Geliştirilmesine Yönelik Bir Eylem Araştırması
Abstract
Özet: Araştırmanın temel amacı, Grafik tasarım eğitimi alan öğrencilerin evrensel kültür bağlamında imge-simge okuryazarlıklarını geliştirebilecekleri bilgi ve becerilerin kazandırıl- masıdır. Bu nedenle tasarım konusunda eleştirel yaklaşımla öğeleri kullanma ve anlamlan- dırma yetisi kazandırabilecek bir ders programının, belli bir zaman diliminde uygulanarak, programın sağladığı gelişmenin düzeyi incelenmiştir. Araştırmada uygulanmış olan öğretim programına dayalı olarak, aşağıdaki şu soruya ya- nıt aranmıştır; 1. Kültürel imge ve simge okuryazarlığı ders programı, çalışma grubunun tasarımlarında görsel dil oluşturmak için bilinçli olarak kültürel imge ve simgeleri kullanabilme becerilerine etkisi nasıl olmuştur? Araştırmada nitel araştırma modeli olan eylem araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştır- manın çalışma grubunu, 2012-2013 Eğitim-Öğretim yılı II. yarıyılda T.C. Marmara Üniver- sitesi, Atatürk Eğitim Fakültesi, Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bilim Dalı Resim-İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı, Grafik A.S.A. 3. sınıf, 11 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubunu A.S.A. dersini alan tüm 3. sınıf öğrencilerinin katılımıyla oluşturulmuştur. Bu grubun çalışma grubu olarak be- lirlenmesindeki neden; 3. sınıfın grafik tasarım dersinde 1 yıllık bir süreç geçirmiş olmaları dolayısıyla tasarım disiplini konusunda deneyim kazanarak, grafik tasarımın genel biçim ele- manlarını kullanabilecek yeterlikte oldukları varsayılmalarıdır. Ayrıca, bu yeterliği kazanmış olmalarıyla tasarımlarda çeşitli kavram ve göndermeleri farklı boyutlarda işleyebilir ve yo- rumlayabilir düzeye hazır oldukları düşüncesi 3. sınıfın çalışma grubu olarak belirlenmesinde etken olmuştur. Araştırmada kullanılan veri toplama araçları; Öğrenci Günlüğü, Haftalık Ders Değer- lendirme Formu ve Çalışma Grubunun Tasarım Uygulamalarını Değerlendirme Formundan oluşmaktadır. Eylem araştırması olarak planlanan çalışmada, farklı kaynaklardan veriler elde edilmiş- tir. Araştırma sürecinde elde edilen tüm veriler nitel araştırma yöntemlerinde kullanılan ve makro seviyede gerçekleştirilen betimsel çözümleme yaklaşımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Abstract: The main objective of the study is to gain the information and skills of which students receiving the graphic design training might develop the image-symbol literacythe content of the universal culture. For this reason, in a certain time of period, the lecture program has been applied for gaining the ability to use the objects with the critical approach about the design and for gaining the ability of interpretation, and the level of the development provided by the program has been examined. Based on the training program applied on the study, following questions have been sought to answer; 1. How is the effect of the cultural image and symbol literacy lecture program on the skills to use the cultural image and symbol with intent for creation of the visual language in the design of the study group? Action study pattern which is the qualitative study model has been used in the study. The study consists of the study group consisting of 11 students from the Graphic A.S.A. program of Drawing-Work Teaching, Department of Fine Arts Teaching, Atatürk University; Faculty of Education, Marmara University at 2nd term Academic year 2012-2013. The study group has been created with the participation of the 3rd year students receiving the lecture Graphic A.S.A. The reason why this group is chosen as the study group is that because they spent 1 year in the graphic design lecture in the 3rd year, they have experience about the discipline of the design, and they are sufficient to use the graphic design general form elements. In addition, in the determination of the 3rd year students as a study group, the factor is the thought that they are ready to process the various concept and understanding in the design in different dimensions because they have gained this ability and they are ready to interpret. Qualitative data collection tools consist of Student Journal, Weekly Lecture Evaluation Form, and Evaluation Form for the Design and Application of the Study Group. In the study, planned for the action study, the data has been obtained from different sources. All data obtained in the study process has been realized with the descriptive analysis approach which is used in the qualitative study methods obtained during the research and realizedthe macro level.
