Publication: İlkokul 4. sınıfta ekokurgu eserleri̇n kullanıldığı okuma çemberi̇ yöntemi̇yle çevreye yöneli̇k tutumun geli̇şti̇ri̇lmesi̇ : eylem araştırması
Abstract
Bu araştırma, okuma çemberi yöntemiyle okunan ekokurgu türündeki eserler kullanılarak ilkokul dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinde çevreye yönelik tutumun geliştirilmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda aşağıdaki sorulara cevap aranmıştır: 1.Katılımcı dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin çevreye yönelik tutumları nasıldır? 2.Ekokurgu eserlerin kullanıldığı okuma çemberi yöntemi, katılımcı öğrencilerin çevreye yönelik tutumunu nasıl etkilemektedir? 3.Ekokurgu eserlerin kullanıldığı okuma çemberi yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilen sınıf içi uygulamaların etkililiği nasıldır? 4.Katılımcı dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin ekokurgu eserlerin kullanıldığı okuma çemberi yöntemine dayalı olarak gerçekleştirilen etkinliklere yönelik görüşleri nelerdir? Eylem araştırması olarak tasarlanan araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2024-2025 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul ilinin Ümraniye ilçesindeki bir özel okulun 4.sınıfına devam eden 26 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Sekiz hafta süren çalışmanın verileri, Çevreye Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği, ön ve son algı formları, okuma çemberi rol kağıtları, okuma çemberi günlüğü, araştırmacı günlüğü ve odak grup görüşmesi yoluyla toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel verilerinin analizinde, istatistik paket lcoxon işaretli sıralar testi kullanılmıştır. Nitel verilerin analizinde içerik analizi ve betimsel analizden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen nicel bulgulara göre, katılımcı öğrencilerin çevreye yönelik tutumları olumludur ve uygulama sonrasında anlamlı bir farklılık oluşmamıştır. Nitel bulgulara göre, öğrencilerin ekokurgu eserler aracılığıyla çevreye yönelik olumlu tutumlarının pekiştiği, çevresel farkındalıklarının arttığı; okuma çemberi yönteminin okuma deneyimlerini olumlu etkilediği ortaya konmuştur.
This study was conducted with the aim of developing environmental attitudes using literature circle method with eco-fiction works in primary school fourth grade. In line with this purpose, the following research questions were addressed: 1.What are the environmental attitudes of the participating fourth-grade students? 2.How does the literature circle method using eco-fiction texts affect the environmental attitudes of the participating students? 3.How effective are the in-class practices carried out through the literature circle method using eco-fiction texts? 4.What are the views of the participating fourth-grade students on the activities based on the literature circle method using eco-fiction texts? Designed as an action research study, the research was conducted with a working group consisting of 26 fourth-grade students attending a private school in the Ümraniye district of Istanbul during the 2024–2025 academic year. The study lasted for 8 weeks, and data were collected through the Environmental Attitude Scale, pre and post perception forms, literature circle role sheets, literature circle journals, the researcher's diary, and focus group interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test via statistical program. For qualitative data, content analysis and descriptive analysis were employed. According to the quantitative findings, participating students exhibited positive attitudes toward the environment, and no statistically significant difference was found following the implementation. However, qualitative findings revealed that students' positive environmental attitudes were reinforced and their environmental awareness increased through eco-fiction texts. Furthermore, the literature circles method was found to positively influence students' reading experiences.
