Yeni iletişim ortamı olarak sosyal medyanın yeni toplumsal hareketlere etkisi

Abstract

ÖZETYeni iletişim ortamlarının gelişimi, iletişim teknolojilerinin toplumların gündelik hayatlarında kapladıkları yeri arttırmış ve büyük bir değişim sağlamıştır. Sosyal medyanın gelişimi ile birlikte toplumsal hareketlerdeki haberleşme ve örgütlenme biçimini değiştirerek yeni toplumsal hareket kavramını ortaya çıkarmış ve bireylerin günlük yaşamlarında rastladıkları toplumsal bir soruna müdahale biçimini farklılaştırmıştır. Geleneksel toplumsal hareketler sınıf kavramı üzerinden hareket ederken yeni toplumsal hareketler ise bu kavramın özelliğini yitirdiği düşüncesiyle kimlik temelli olarak hareket ederler ve bağlantılarını yeni iletişim teknolojilerinin bir örneği olan sosyal medya üzerinden yürütmektedirler. Sosyal medyanın gelişmesiyle de bireyler internet üzerinden tanıdıkları veya tanımadıkları kişilerle toplumsal bir soruna karşı organize olma ve ortak karar alma becerilerini geliştirmişlerdir. Böylece bir toplumsal hareketin başlangıcından gelişimine ve hedefine varıncaya kadar ki süreçte her daim aktif rol almışlardır. Bu çalışmada sosyal medyanın yeni toplumsal hareketlere etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırma boyunca toplumsal ve yeni toplumsal hareket, yeni iletişim ortamları ve sosyal medya detaylı olarak incelenmiştir. Tez kapsamındaki araştırma sonuçlarından elde edilen veriler analiz edilerek, teorik bilgiler ile sentezlenerek sonuca ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır.

The development of new communication environments has increased the place of communication technologies in the daily lives of societies and has provided a great change. With the development of social media, it has changed the way of communication and organization in social movements and introduced the concept of new social movement and differentiated the way of intervention into a social problem that individuals face in their daily lives. While traditional social movements move through the concept of class, the new social movements act on the basis of identity with the thought that this concept has lost its characteristics and carried out their connections through the social media, which is an example of new communication technologies. With the development of social media, individuals have developed their ability to organize and make joint decisions against a social problem with people they know or do not know on the Internet. Thus, they have always played an active role in the process from the beginning to the development and the target of a social movement. In this study, the impact of social media on new social movements has been investigated. During the research, social and new social movements, new communication environments and social media have been studied in detail. The data obtained from the research results within the scope of the thesis has been analyzed and synthesized with theoretical knowledge and tried to reach the result.
