Abstract
ÜST KADEME YÖNETİCİLERİN ENFORMASYON KULLANIMI VE ENFORMASYON SİSTEMLERİNDEN BEKLENTİLERİ Enformasyon teknolojilerinin gelişimiyle işletmelerde bu teknolojilerin kullanımı son yıllarda yaygınlaşmaktadır. Yöneticiler de bu teknolojilere günlük faaliyetlerini desteklemek amacıyla sıkça başvurmaktadır. İşletmenin yönlendirildiği yer olarak üst kademe yönetim bu teknolojilerin en az kullanıldığı alan olarak görülmektedir. Üst kademe yöneticilerin görev alanı ve faaliyetlerinin karmaşıklığı nedeniyle bu kademedeki çözümler istenen sonuçları verememektedir. Bunun nedeni olarak üst kademe yönetimin enformasyon davranışının iyi incelenmemesi ve bu yöneticilerin enformasyon sistemlerinden beklentilerinin belirlenmemesi ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada üst kademe yönetimin enformasyon kullanımının özellikleri incelenmiş, hangi enformasyonların üst kademe yönetimde önem kazandığı belirlenmiştir. Üst kademe yöneticilerin enformasyon davranışı kişisel ve örgütsel faktörlerden etkilenmektedir. Bu faktörler incelenerek üst kademe yönetime doğru gerçekleşen enformasyon ve iletişim akışı değerlendirilmiş, enformasyon kanallarından yöneticilerin nasıl yararlandığı detaylı olarak araştırılmıştır. Yöneticilerin enformasyon ihtiyacı belirlendikten sonra, çalışmada üst kademe yönetimin kullanacağı enformasyon sistemlerinden beklentileri üzerine yoğunlaşılmıştır. Daha önceki çalışmalarda enformasyon sistemlerin geliştirilmesi için ağırlıklı olarak teknik faktörler üzerinde durulmuş, yöneticinin istekleri ve beklentileri göz ardı edilmiştir. Türk-Alman sermayeli büyük ölçekli sanayi işletmelerinde bu konuya yönelik üst kademe yöneticilerin beklentileri sorulmuş ve elde edilen bulgular değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmada sektörel ve işletme boyutuna bağlı olarak firmalarda enformasyon teknolojilerinin kullanımı incelenmiş, yöneticilerin enformasyon kullanımı yöneticinin uyruğu ve üst kademe yönetimdeki pozisyonu açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca yöneticiler kullanacakları enformasyon sistemlerinden beklentilerinin dile getirmişlerdir. TOP EXECUTIVES’ USE OF INFORMATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS FROM INFORMATION SYSTEMS Depending on the development of information technologies, the usage of these technologies in firms has been increased for last few years. Also the managers frequently use these technologies to support their daily work. Top management is accepted as an area in which these technologies are utilised rarely. Because of the nature of top executive’s duty area and complication of their working activities, the solutions at this level can’t result in as required. The reasons are as following, improperly analyse of senior managers’ information behaviour and problems by determining of the managers’ expectations from the information systems. The characteristics of top executives’ information usage and the information which are relevant for top management level, have been analysed in this dissertation. Information behaviour of senior managers is effected from personal and organizational factors. These factors are used for the evaulation of information and communication flow at top management level and the benefit of top executives’ from management informations have been researched. After the definition of managers’ information needs and requirements, it has been majored on the expectations from the information systems which are used from the top executives. In further research much importance has been attached to technical factors for developing information systems, the expectations of managers have not been considered. At this dissertation, the use of information technologies at the large industry companies with turkish-german capital have been analysed. The findings are being classified by industry sector, the scale of the firm, information use of managers, executives’ nationality and their position in top management. Furthermore executives have stated their expectations of information systems which they are going to use or they are already using.
