Dokuma katları ile doku yaratmak üzerine deneysel bir çalışma

Abstract

Dokumacılık, insanlık tarihinde uzun bir geçmişe sahip olan ve kültürel mirasımızın temel unsurlarından birini oluşturan bir üretim biçimidir. Binlerce yıldır dokumacılık, medeniyetlerin gelişimine ve toplumların kimliklerinin şekillenmesine katkıda bulunmuştur. Dokumacılığın tarihi, tarih öncesi çağlardan günümüze kadar uzanan bir hikâyeyi anlatırken, aynı zamanda insanlığın yaratıcılığını ve teknik ustalığını sergileyen bir üretim tekniği olarak önemli bir konuma sahiptir. Sanat ve tasarım alanlarında dokumacılık; renk, desen, doku ve yapı kullanımıyla ifade gücü yüksek yapıtların ortaya çıkmasına imkân tanır. Bu nedenle dokumacılık, sadece geçmişin bir yansıması değil, aynı zamanda geleceğin şekillendirilmesinde de önemli bir role sahiptir. Gelişen teknolojiyle çeşitlenen malzemeler ve teknikler günümüzde hem tasarım hem de sanat alanında tekstilin anlatım dilini güçlendirmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı kumaş katlarının oluşturduğu dokuların sanatsal ifade için sunduğu olanakları keşfetmek ve ortaya koymaktır. Yapılan çalışma dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. İkinci bölümde, dokumanın tanımına, dokumacılığın kısa tarihine, dokumacılık eylemi ve dokuma katlarının işlevine, tarihsel örneklerde katlı yapı izlenimini veren görselliği irdelenmesine yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise yığdırma tekniğiyle yapılmış örneklerin teknik açıklamaları ve açık yazılımları tablolarla verilmiştir. Örnekler 3 temel grupta incelenmektedir. Bu gruplar hammaddelere göre oluşturulmuştur. Dördüncü bölümde ise belirleyici yapı tekniği ile oluşturulan anlatım dili sabit ve değişkenlerine göre tablolaştırılıp irdelenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra ışığın yapıdaki rolü incelenmiştir. Yığdırmayı sadece teknik olarak düşünmüyor, bir yapı oluşturma (hacim anlayışı) olarak değerlendiriyoruz ve yığdırmanın dokusal hareketlerinin özgün formlar oluşturmada sonsuz seçenek olduğunu öngörüyoruz.

Weaving is a form of production with a long history in human civilization and constitutes a fundamental element of our cultural heritage. For thousands of years, weaving has contributed to the development of civilizations and the shaping of the identities of societies. While the history of weaving tells a story that spans from prehistoric times to the present day, it also holds a significant place as a production technique that showcases human creativity and technical mastery. In the fields of art and design, weaving allows for the creation of highly expressive works through the use of color, pattern, texture, and structure. Therefore, weaving is not only a reflection of the past but also plays an important role in shaping the future. With the development of technology, the variety of materials and techniques available today enhance the expressive language of textiles in both design and art. The aim of this study is to explore and demonstrate the artistic possibilities offered by the textures created by layers of fabric. The study consists of four sections. In the second section, the definition of weaving, a brief history of weaving, the act of weaving, and the function of woven layers, as well as the visual impressions of layered structures in historical examples, are examined. In the third section, technical explanations and open software descriptions of examples made using the stacking technique are provided in tables. The examples are examined in three main groups, which are categorized according to raw materials. In the fourth section, the expressive language created by the decisive structural technique is tabulated and analyzed according to its constants and variables. Additionally, the role of light in the structure is examined. We consider stacking not only as a technique but also as a form-building process (understanding of volume) and foresee that the textural movements of stacking offer infinite options in creating unique forms.
