II. Meşrutiyet dönemi eğitim dergilerinde terbiye, ahlâk ve millîlik kavramlarıyla ilgili öne çıkan görüşler

Abstract

II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi, Osmanlı’dan Cumhuriyet’e geçiş süreci olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bu dönemde siyasî, askerî, ekonomik, eğitim, sosyokültürel vb. alanlarda değişim ve krizlerle karşılaşılmıştır. Bunlara bağlı olarak eğitimle ilgili yenilikler ortaya çıkmıştır. Yaşanan bu süreçlere dair aydın ve eğitimciler tarafından fikir ve öneri sunulmuş, sunulan bu önerilere göre devletin yöneticileri ya da eğitimcileri karar almıştır. Basın-yayın faaliyetlerinin yaygınlaşması ve sansürün kalkmasıyla değişim ve yenilik için sunulan fikir ve öneriler, toplum ve ilgili meslek örgütleriyle paylaşılmıştır. Bu doğrultuda toplumu ve meslek örgütlerini bilgilendirmek isteyen mecmualar ön plana çıkmıştır. Bu çalışmada, başkent İstanbul’da yayınlanan Terbiye, Muallim ve Millî Tâlim ve Terbiye Cemiyeti Mecmualarını incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında, II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi (1908-1923) eğitimci ve aydınlarının terbiye, ahlâk ve millîlik kavramlarıyla ilgili görüşlerine odaklanılmıştır. Eski eğitim yöntem ve usulüyle yetişen eğitimci ve aydınların terbiye, ahlâk ve millîliğe dair teklif ettikleri yeni usul ve yöntem hakkındaki görüş ve öneriler çalışmanın ayrıcı tarafını ortaya koymaktadır. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgular, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Toplumu ve özellikle eğitimcileri bilgilendirmek için yayınlanan bu eğitim mecmualarında tâlim-terbiye usul ve yöntemleri, terbiye alt başlıkları; ahlâk ve alt başlıkları ile millîlik ve alt başlıklarına dair yazarların öne çıkan görüşleri incelenmiştir.

II. Constitutional Period, is considered as the transition period from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic. During this period, changes and crises were encountered in political, military, economic, educational, sociocultural, etc. fields. Depending on these, innovations related to education emerged. Intellectuals and educators presented ideas and suggestions regarding these processes, and state administrators or educators took decisions according to these suggestions. With the spread of press and broadcasting activities and the lifting of censorship, ideas and suggestions for change and innovation were shared with society and relevant professional organizations. In this direction, periodicals that wanted to inform the society and professional organizations came to the forefront. This study aims to examine Terbiye, Muallim and Millî Tâlim ve Terbiye Cemiyeti Mecmuaları published in the capital city of Istanbul. The study focuses on the views of educators and intellectuals of the II. Constitutional Period (1908-1923) on the concepts of decency, morality and nationality. The opinions and suggestions about the new methods and methods proposed by educators and intellectuals who were raised with the old educational methods and procedures regarding manners, morality and nationalism reveal the distinctive aspect of the study. The findings obtained in the study were evaluated using the descriptive analysis method of document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods. In these educational journals published to inform the society and especially educators, the prominent opinions of the authors on the methods and methods of education, subheadings of education, morality and its subheadings, and nationality and its subheadings were analyzed.
