Abstract

ORTADOĞU VE KUZEY AFRİKA BÖLGESİ KADIN GİRİŞİMCİLİĞİ: MISIR ÖRNEĞİ Mısır Arap Cumhuriyeti, Ortadoğu ve Kuzey Afrika bölgesi içinde doğal kaynak yönünden zayıf, fakat emek arzının ve genç nüfusun fazla olduğu bir ülkedir. Ülkenin nüfus artış hızı dünya ortalamasının üstünde olup, işsizlik kaçınılmaz bir sonuç olmuştur. Bu sebeple de girişimcilik faaliyetleri, istihdam yaratması, bölgesel ve ulusal ekonomiyi geliştirmesi açısından ülke için büyük önem arz etmektedir. Sanayi devrimiyle ücretli işgücüne dahil olan kadınlar, eğitimlerini de arttırınca iş dünyasında yönetici veya işveren olmak gibi daha sağlam pozisyonlar talep etmişlerdir. Zamanla kadın girişimciliğinin de ekonomik büyüme ve kalkınmadaki rolü kabul edilir bir gerçek olunca, Mısır’ın da bu konuda ilerlemeler kaydettiği görülmektedir. Bu çalışma, Mısır’da kadın girişimciliğinin, ülkenin sosyal, siyasal, kültürel ve ekonomik tüm bileşenleriyle etkileşimi incelendiğinde anlaşılabileceğini ileri sürmektedir.

ABSTRACT THE WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA: EXAMPLE OF EGYPT In the region of the Middle East and North Africa, The Arab Republic of Egypt is a country scarce in natural resources but with a great labour supply due to the young population. An increasing population rate above the world average will inevitably result in unemployment in a country. Therefore, entrepreneurial activities to provide employment for the country are of great importance in respect of the development of the regional and national economy. Women have been included in the paid labour force since industrialisation and with increasing education, now demand a more established position in the business world, such as in the role of manager or employer. Over time, it has become an accepted fact that the entrepreneurship of women has a role in economic growth and development and the progress of Egypt on this subject is seen to have been recorded. This study proposes an understanding of the entrepreneurship of Egyptian women by examining the interaction with all the social, political, cultural and economic components of the country.
