Abstract
1990-2000 dönemi, küresel ekonomide istikrarsızlıkların arttığı birdönemdir. Bu dönem incelendiğinde, ABD dışındaki gelişmiş ekonomilerinistikrarsız ve düşük hızda bir büyüme performansı arz ettikleri görülmektedir.Gelişmekte olan ekonomilerde ise, küresel ölçekte yansımaları olan finansal krizleryaşanmıştır.Ekonomik krizler ülke ekonomileri içerisinde çeşitli nedenlerden dolayıortaya çıkabileceği gibi ekonominin küreselleşmesi nedeniyle diğer ülkeekonomilerinde ortaya çıkan krizlerin domino etkisiyle de kendisini hissettirebilir.2001 krizi küresel bir kriz olmayıp, Türkiye içerisinde uygulanan hatalı politikalarsonucunda ortaya çıkmış bir krizken, 2008 krizi ABD kaynaklı ve etkisinin tümdünya tarafından hissedildiği bir kriz olmuştur.Krizlerden ülke ekonomisi içerisinde en fazla etkilenen sektör bankacılıksektörüdür. Bankacılık sektörü bilindiği gibi topladığı mevduatları ihtiyaç duyulanbaşka alanlara kaydırma, istihdam sağlama, kaydi para yaratma gibi ülke ekonomileriiçin önemli bir rol üstlenmektedirler. Üstlendikleri bu rol nedeniyle de para ile ilkelden muhatap olan ve dolayısıyla ekonomik krizlerden en çabuk ve en fazlaetkilenen sektörlerin başında gelmektedir. Buna bağlı olarak bu çalışmada; Türkbankacılık sisteminde 1980 sonrasında yaşanan krizler ve bu krizlerin bankacılıksektörüne etkileri ele alınmıştır.
The period of 1990-2000 is a period of increasing instability in the globaleconomy. When this period is analyzed, it is seen that developed economies outsidethe US present an unstable and low speed growth performance. In emergingeconomies, financial crises with reflections on a global scale have been experienced.As economic crises may arise for a variety of reasons within nationaleconomies, because of the globalization of the economy, it can make itself felt withthe domino effect of the crises in other countries' economies, too. Whereas the 2001crisis is not a global crisis, which emerged as a result of faulty policies implementedin Turkey, the 2008 crisis has been a crisis originating from United States and itseffect has been felt by the whole world.The banking sector is the sector most affected by the economic crisis. Asknown, the banking sector plays an important role for the economies of countriessuch as shifting deposits to other areas needed, providing employment and creatingfiduciary money. Because of this role, they are the first to deal with money and henceare one of the fastest and most affected sectors from economic crises. Therefore inthis study, crises in the Turkish banking system after 1980 and the effects of thesecrises on the banking sector have been discussed
