Abstract
In this thesis, the socialization and the education processes were examined in the period of changing into a contemporary and industrial society in the years when Turkish Republic founded. First of all the given meanings of socialization and education were pointed in terms of putting the concrete developments which were directed to Turkey into a theoretical aspect. Since the socialization and the education are the elements of the social construction, the adaptation periods in various social constructions which have appeard in the historical process were tried to be analized; the same approach was used for the education periods and the education are the institutions of the same social construction so the interraction between them comes out as a complex thing. Therefore it was thougth that the former and the secondry socialization difference would be helpful to discuss the societies which have particularly veri quick changes. Since Renaissance and New Age represent a process form the Middle Ages to the modern human and the new understanding of science and society, the radical changes on the education and the socialization process in the periods when also the republic had them as a refenence were pointed out. The re-shaped education in the industrial and capitalist society which was erected on the ideological and scientific bases of Renaissance and New Age was examined basically. The pozitivist approach which was the base of the educational work in those years would also be the determiner while the Republic Education was shaping up. Since the Republic took over the Ottoman society construction and the socialization and the education processes which are the institutions of it, the Ottoman social construction and education in the late years of the 19th centry was examined. The overtaken socialization and education processes are seemed in a cosmopolit sight. After the national Independence War, the public started the socialization and the education processes which aimed to construct the virtues of a national state which are for the public independence. This change brought out the veri radical changes in the overtaken social relationships. For this, the aims of constructing a homogeneous national-state with the political and legal revolutions were made together with the education reform. In the socialization process in the countryside, it was thought that the Village İnstitutions would play a very important role.
