Lise Öğrencilerinin Tercih Ettikleri Öğretmen Profillerinin Belirlenmesi

Abstract

Bir öğretmen bazı öğrenciler için idol olurken bazı öğrencilerin favori öğretmenleri arasında yer almayabilmektedir. Öğrencilerin tercih ettikleri öğretmen profillerinin belirlenmesi hem yeni kuşağın öğretmenlerden beklentilerini ortaya koyabilir hem de öğretmenlere önemli mesajlar sunabilir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada öğrencilerin tercih ettikleri öğretmen profillerini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan öğretmen profili anketi kullanılmıştır. Anket beş bölümden oluşmaktadır. Her bölümde A ve B olarak adlandırılan öğretmen tipleri betimlenmiştir. Ankette öğrencilerden hangi öğretmen tipini tercih ettikleri ve nedenleri sorulmuştur. Tercihlerini seçerek belirten öğrencilerden tercih nedenlerinin gerekçelerini açıklamaları istenmiştir. Öğrencilerin yazılı yanıtları içerik analizi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgulara göre öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğu; dersi tahtadan anlatmayan, zaman zaman sınıf içinde dolaşan, öğrencilerle konuşurken göz temasında bulunan, ses tonlamasını etkili şekilde ayarlayan ve beden dilini iyi kullanan öğretmen profilini tercih etmektedir.

A teacher may be an idol for some students, but may not be among the favorite teachers of some students. Determining the teacher profiles preferred by the students can both reveal the expectations of the new generation from their teachers and provide important messages to the teachers in general. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to examine the teacher profiles that students prefer. The teacher profile questionnaire that consists of five parts was designed. In each part, teacher types named A and B are described. In the questionnaire, students were asked to choose the type of teacher they prefer and explain the reasoning behind their preference. The written responses of the students were evaluated by content analysis. Findings reveled that the majority of students prefer the profile of the teacher who does not teach the lesson on the board, wanders around the classroom from time to time, makes eye contact while talking with the students, effectively adjusts the tone of the voice and uses the body language well.
