Abstract
Yakın geçmişte iletişimin temel mecrasının geleneksel medyadan yeni medyadenilen sosyal medya alanına yönelmesiyle alışılagelmiş bazı kavramlar farklıanlamlara bürünmüştür. Bu kavramlardan biri de akran zorbalığıdır. Bu noktadateknolojinin “kötüye yorulması ve zarar verme amaçlı kullanılması” ile “siber(sanal) zorbalık” adı verilen yeni bir kavramı ortaya çıkmıştır. Siber zorbalık,sosyal medyada sıkça karşılaşılan bir olgudur. Yüksek takipçili hesaplara sahipolan Twitter fenomenleri de bazı takipçilerinin kendilerine ve diğer takipçilerineyönelttiği siber zorbalıkla mücadele etmek zorunda kalmaktadır.Twitter fenomenlerinin siber zorbalıkla ilgili deneyim ve düşüncelerini ortayakoymayı amaçlayan bu çalışma, fenomenolojik nitel bir araştırma olaraktasarlanmıştır. Yüksek takipçili beş Twitter fenomeninden konu bağlamındagörüş alınarak, siber zorbalık olgusu Twitter fenomenlerinin deneyimleri ve bakışaçıları ile ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, diğer sosyal medyakullanıcıları gibi Twitter fenomenlerinin de çeşitli siber zorbalık davranışlarınamaruz kaldıklarını, farklı boyut ve düzeylerde bu davranışlardan etkilendiklerinive söz konusu davranışlarla baş etmek için çeşitli stratejiler geliştirdikleriniortaya koymaktadır.
Within the context of the recent past, the perception and meaning of some_x000D_ conventional concepts have been changing as the new media becoming the main_x000D_ channel of inter-personal communication. Bullying or peer bullying is one of_x000D_ those concepts. A new concept meaning ‘the misuse of the technology or using it_x000D_ as a tool to harm others’ has been emerged from the above concept recently,_x000D_ which is called ‘cyber bullying’. Nowadays, cyber bullying is one of the most_x000D_ common things that one can come across on social media. Twitteratis, who have_x000D_ famous accounts followed by so many users at Twitter, and some of their_x000D_ followers are also exposed to various types of cyber bullying behaviours. Thus,_x000D_ they feel obliged to struggle against this kind of behaviours._x000D_ Aiming to investigate the experiences and viewpoints of the Twitteratis on_x000D_ cyber bullying, the current study has designed as a qualitative phenomenological_x000D_ research. It employs a semi-structured interview schedule to examine five_x000D_ influential Twitteratis’ experiences of and viewpoints on cyber bullying. The_x000D_ research findings reveal that alike all other social media users, the Twitteratis_x000D_ have been exposed to various types of cyber bullying and psychologically_x000D_ influenced. It has also found out that they have developed varied strategies to_x000D_ overcome the negative effects of the cyber bullying.
