Mimari kütlenin heykel sanatında bellek bağlamında yorumlanması

Abstract

Heykel sanatında mimari kütlenin kullanımına odaklanan bu tez, mimari öğeleri eserlerinde yorumlayan sanatçıları ve eserleri ele aldıkları kavramlar üzerinden incelemektedir. Toplumların birbirini tanıması, anlamlandırması ve aynı zamanda insanın da kendisini tanıması noktasında sanatın önemi oldukça yüksektir. Mimari yapıtlar, toplumların oluşumunda etkili bir rol oynayan kentin önemli dinamiklerinden biridir. İnsan hayatıyla doğrudan etkileşimde olan, insanların yapay doğasının, yani kentlerin oluşumunda temel unsuru teşkil eden mimari yapıtlar aynı zamanda toplumların bilincini, kültürünü, yaşam tarzını yansımakta ve temsil etmektedir. Geçmişten bugüne birçok toplum, bilincini üretiminde ortaya koyarak kendisini tanımış ve üretilen eserler zaman içerisinde geçmişi tanıma ve anlamlandırma noktasında önemli bir rol oynamıştır. Bu bağlamda mimari yapıtlar, insanların ve toplumun bilincini yansıtma noktasında bir aracı işlevi görmektedir. Birçok sanatçı, eserinde mimari kütleyi gerek açık bir anlatımla gerekse metaforik bir yöntem kullanarak merkeze almakta veya mimari unsurlardan yararlanarak kendisini ifade etmektedir. Bu tez, mimari kütleye dair öğeleri çeşitli bağlamlarda heykel çalışmalarında barındıran sanatçıların eserlerini incelemekte ve bu araştırma bağlamında yapıt üretimiyle tamamlanmaktadır.

Art is of great significance for societies to recognise and make sense of each other, and at the same time for human beings to understand themselves. This thesis, which focuses on the use of architectural mass in sculpture, examines the artists who incorporate architectural elements in their works and the concepts they deal with. Architectural works are one of the key dynamics of cities that play an essential role in the formation of societies. Architectural works, which are in direct communication with human life and constitute the basic element in the formation of the artificial nature of people, that is, cities, also reflect and represent the consciousness, culture and lifestyle of societies. From past to present, many societies have recognised themselves by revealing their consciousness in their productions, and these works have played an significant role in recognising and making sense of the past by staying in contact with different societies over time. In this context, architectural works function as an intermediary in reflecting the consciousness of peoples and societies. Many artists take the architectural mass to the centre in their works, either by using an explicit representation or a metaphorical approach, or they express themselves by utilising architectural elements through memory This thesis analysis the retention of artists who incorporate architectural mass in their sculptural works and concludes with an overview of some of these artists' productions.
