Abstract
MODERNLEŞME ve TÜRK SİNEMASI: Tarihsel ve Toplumbilimsel bir İnceleme Tarihsel olarak Batı Avrupa’da başlayan modernleşme süreci yayılarak sayısız toplum gibi Türk toplumunu da derinden etkilemiş bir olgudur. Modernleşme sorunsalı varlığını ayrı ayrı toplumsal yapı öğelerinde olduğu kadar temsil araçlarında da göstermektedir. Bu araştırmada modernleşme – sinema ilişkisi çift yönlü bir ilişki olarak ele alınmıştır: İlk önce, 1950’lere kadar olan Cumhuriyet modernleşmesi içinde sinemanın tarihsel, toplumsal ve ekonomik açılardan konumlanışı ve modernleşmenin sinemaya bakışı çözümlenmiştir. Ardından, bu dönemin filmlerinin modernlik, modernleşme ve modernleşme düşüncesini temsili dönemin tarihsel- toplumsal koşulları ve modernleşme anlayışları çerçevesinde çözümlenmiştir. Bu karşılıklı ilişkinin ortaya çıkması ve kuramsal çerçeveyi belirlemek amacıyla da öncelikle dünyada ve Türkiye’de modernleşmeye dair kavramlar, süreçler ve modernleşme düşünü tartışılmıştır.
MODERNIZATON and TURKISH CINEMA: A Historical and Sociological Analysis Although the modernization process had begun in Western Europe, it has expanded and affected the Turkish society deeply like the rest of the world. The question of modernity appears in various representation medium as much us it appears in the different social structure entities. In this research, it is approached to modernization – cinema relationship as a two way relationship. Firstly, Republican modernization process’s approach to cinema and cinema’s position in this movement until 1950’s is analyzed through a historical, social, and economic perspective. Secondly, it is analyzed the representation of modernity, modernization and modernization thought in this era’s Turkish films, around the historical-social conditions and the modernization discussions of the period. Previously, in order to achieve this goal and defining theoretical frame, concepts in modernization, modernization thought and processes are discussed.
