Publication: Olimpiyat Oyunları’na adaylık süreci ve İstanbul’un 2020 olimpiyat oyunları adaylığının değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
Çalışmamızda 2020 Olimpiyat Oyunları’na aday olan İstanbul şehrinin, tesis ve altyapı düzenlemeleri, ülkenin tanıtımı ve turizm faaliyetleri, kamu ve özel sektörlerden aldıkları destekler, istihdam, işsizlik ve sürecin diğer sektörlerde yarattığı etkiler başlıkları altında adaylık sürecinin incelenmesi ve arzu edilen fiziki ve toplumsal koşulları sağlamaya yönelik yönetim süreci bağlamında, oyunlara adaylıktaki temel hedefler çerçevesinde, İstanbul’un 2020 Olimpiyat Oyunları’na adaylığının etkilerinin ve sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda örneklemi oluşturan katılımcılar, adaylık süreci içerisinde görev almış 2 kişi, Olimpiyat Oyunları hakkında çalışmalarda bulunmuş 3 akademisyen, 3 spor yazarı ve gazeteci ve 3 milli sporcu/ antrenör olmak üzere toplam 11 kişiden oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmada “Nitel Yöntem”e özgü bir araştırma tekniği olan “Yarı yapılandırılmış derinlemesine görüşme” uygulanmıştır. Yapılan görüşmeler ses kayıt cihazına kaydedilmiş ve “Word” metnine aktarılmıştır. İlgili bulgular (metinler) içerik çözümlemesine tabi tutularak konuyla ilgili temel sorunsalları yansıtan 3 tema altında sınıflandırılmıştır: 1. Olimpiyat Oyunlarına Adaylıkta Temel Güdü ve Olası Ev Sahipliği, 2. Ev Sahipliğinin Gerçekleşememe Nedenlerine Dair Algı, 3. Süreç Yönetimi ve Ekonomik Etki Sorunsalı. Araştırmanın sonucundan genel olarak şu ipuçları elde edilmiştir: İstanbul’un 2020 Olimpiyat Oyunları adaylığı döneminde yaşanılan sosyal olayların, söylemlerin ve politik hamlelerin süreci olumsuz etkilediği, olası ev sahipliği sonrası organizasyonun sağladığı sosyal etkilerin ise ekonomik etkilerden daha öne çıkacağı sonucu ortaya çıkmaktadır.
In our work, the city of Istanbul, which was a candidate for the 2020 Olympic Games, infrastructure arrangements, introduction of the country and tourism activities, support from the public and private sectors, employment, unemployment and other sectors of the process under the headings of the effects it creates and examining the candidacy period and in the context of the management process aimed at achieving the desired physical and social conditions, within the framework of the main objectives of the candidacy, Istanbul’s candidacy for 2020 Olympic Games and the results of its candidates will be evaluated. Participants were chosen as 2 person who participated in the candidate process, 3 academicians who were involved in the Olympic Games, 3 sport writers and journalists, and 3 national athletes / coaches, total 11 people in the sample. In the study, a research technique specific to qualitative method structured in-depth interview. Voice recordings made device and transferred to the Word text. Related findings (texts) were classified by 3 themes that reflect basic problems related to the subject by subjecting to content analysis: 1. Basic intention and potential in the candidacy for the Olympic Games Homeowners, 2. Perception about the reasons why the house can not be realized, 3. Process management and economic impact. As a result of the survey, the following findings were generally obtained: The social events, discourses and political moves in Istanbul during the candidacy of the 2020 Olympic Games were negative and that the social effects provided by the post host organization will come to the forefront of economic impacts.
