Publication: Combined T and B cell immunodeficiencies
Abstract
The immune system is divided into humoral and cellular mechanisms. B cells are known for their role in humoral immunity by secreting antibodies against various pathogens, and T cells are responsible for cell-mediated immunity by killing intracellular organisms. T cells are also necessary in the maturation of B cells into antibody secreting plasma cells. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
