Publication: Boğaziçi kültürel peyzajının değer ve biçim ekseninde incelenmesi
Abstract
Boğaziçi güzelliği, kültürü, tarihi ve doğasıyla İstanbul’un vazgeçilmez büyük bir hazinesidir. Tarihin her döneminde kıymetli olan bu coğrafyaya Bizans döneminde kısmen yerleşilmiş ve İstanbul’un fethi ile yerleşimin hızlandığı bir yaşam alanı haline gelmiştir. Hem doğal hem de kültürel anlam biriktiren ve taşıyan bu güzelliğin değeri, insandan mekâna, mekândan yerleşime ve yerleşimden medeniyete değişmiş ve değişmektedir. Boğaziçi sahip olduğu topografya, yerleşim düzeni ve doğal güzellikleriyle bir kültürel peyzaj alanıdır. İnsan ve doğa arasındaki mekânsal-zamansal ilişkiler kültürel peyzajın oluşmasında etkilidir. Boğaziçi kültürel peyzaj alanı, geçmiş ile gelecek arasında bağ kurmakta olup bugünün kültürünün oluşmasında yaşanmış kültür deneyimlerinin izi olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Bu izlerin bazıları somut olarak korunmaya çalışılırken bazıları ise kaybolmaya yüz tutmaktadır. Boğaziçi’nde mekânsal/ fiziksel olarak korunmaya odaklanılırken mekanda yaşanmış/ yaşanan değerler geri planda kalmaktadır. Toplumsal ve kültürel yaşamın şekillenmesinde insan, değerleri, davranışları ve yaşam tarzıyla etkilemekte ve yol göstermektedir. Bu bağlamda, Boğaziçi ile bağ kuran insanların duygu ve düşünceleri irdelenmiş olup tezin amacı günümüz Boğaziçi yaşamına bütünsel bir şekilde ve çok boyutlu yaklaşarak Boğaziçi coğrafyasının özgünlüğüne ve farkındalığına katkı sağlamak olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada ilk olarak şehirde yaşama kültürü odağında kavramsal ağlara kısaca değinilerek kavramların birbiri ile ilişkisi üzerinde durulmuştur. Bir sonraki bölümde ise İstanbul’da Boğaziçi Kültürel Peyzaj alanı çeşitli boyutlarıyla ele alınmış ve Boğaziçi ve edebiyat ilişkisine değinilerek bölüm kapsamında Boğaziçi Medeniyeti’ne giriş yapılmıştır. Yaşayan Boğaziçi Kültürü ve Yönetimi bölümünde ise yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat tekniği kullanılarak rastlantısal örneklem yöntemiyle sahadan veriler toplanmış ve elde edilen veriler Boğaziçi medeniyeti, izlenimi, algısı, kurum çalışmaları ve Boğaziçi’nin geleceğine yönelik bulgular kapsamında değerlendirilmiştir.
The Bosphorus is an indispensable treasure of Istanbul with its beauty, culture, history, and nature. This land, which radiates pleasure and flavor, has been valuable in every period of history. The Bosphorus, which was partially settled during the Byzantine period, became a living space where settlement accelerated with the conquest of Istanbul. The value of this beauty, which accumulates and carries both in the natural and cultural sense, has changed and varies from person to place, from place to settlement, and from settlement to civilization. Bosphorus can be described as a cultural landscape with its topography, location, order of settlement, and natural beauty. Spatial-temporal relations between humans and nature are effective in the formation of the cultural landscape. In the cultural landscape of the Bosphorus, there are traces of previous cultural experiences in the formation of today's culture, which connects the past and the future. While some of these traces are tried to be preserved concretely, some of them are about to disappear. While focusing on its physical protection, lived/ experienced values remain negligible. The life of the Bosphorus, its natural beauty, and the traces and experiences that it has been leaving on people are encouraging factors for this study. A person's values guide his behavior and lifestyle. Values are effective in shaping social and cultural life. In this context, the feelings and thoughts of the people who have been establishing a bond with the Bosphorus were explored. In addition, institutions related to the management of Bosphorus were also examined. It is intended to follow the cultural traces of the Bosphorus and to contribute to keeping its memory alive. In this study, first of all, conceptual networks were briefly mentioned while focusing on the living culture of the city and the relationship of the concepts with each other is emphasized. In the next section, the Bosphorus Cultural Landscape area in Istanbul was described in various dimensions. In addition, in this section, an introduction to the Bosphorus Civilization was made by referring to the relationship between Bosphorus and Literature. In the Living Bosphorus Culture and Management section, data were collected randomly in the field using a semi-structured interview technique. With these data, the findings about the Bosphorus Civilization, its impressions, perceptions, institutional studies, and its future were evaluated. This study aimed to contribute to the originality and awareness of the landscape from a holistic multidimensional perspective in today's Bosphorus life.
