Whiteley Yndeksi Türkçe Versiyonunun (Türkçe WI-7) Geçerlik, Güvenirliği ve Faktör Yapısı

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çaly?mada bedensel uyary ya da de?i?ikliklerinhastalyk göstergesi olarak ya?antylanma davrany?y olanhipokondriyazisin/sa?lyk anksiyetesinin ölçülmesinde kullanylan, Pilowsky tarafyndan geli?tirilmi?, Fink ve ark.tarafyndan modifiye edilmi? olan yedi maddelik WhiteleyYndeksi (WI-7) Türkçe uyarlamasynyn geçerli?i, güvenirli?ive faktör yapysy ara?tyryldy. Yöntem: Bu çaly?ma 240lisansüstü ö?rencisi ve 170 hasta ile yürütüldü.Katylymcylara WI-7, Belirti Tarama Listesi (SCL-90R) ve BeckDepresyon Ölçe?i (BDÖ) verildi. Bulgular: Ölçe?intoplam puany (r:0.49) ve sorular tek tek (r:0.27-0.52) elealyndy?ynda dü?ük-orta düzeyde bir test-tekrar test tutarly?y gösterdi. Ölçe?in iç tutarlyk incelenmesinde Cronbachalfa de?eri 0.78 olarak bulundu. Geçerlik analizinde,hasta grubu ile kontrol grubu ortalamalary arasynda WI7'nin istatistiksel olarak anlamly farklylyk gösterdi?i saptandy. Bedensel belirtiler/bedensel dü?ünce u?ra?y ilehastalyk kaygysy/fobisi olmak üzere 2-faktörlü bir yapyortaya çykty. Ölçüt ba?yntyly geçerli?i için BDÖ ve SCL-90Ralt-ölçekleri ile pozitif yönde ili?ki gösterdi?i bulundu.Sonuç: WI-7'nin iç tutarlyk, test-tekrar test tutarly?y vemadde toplam ili?kisi, faktör yapysy, özel gruplary ayyrtedici geçerlik ve ölçüt ba?yntyly geçerlik bulgulary ölçe?in,Türk toplumunda belli kysytlamalary olmakla birlikte kabuledilebilir ölçülerde geçerli ve güvenilir oldu?unu göstermektedir.

Objectives: In this study, we examined the reliability,validity, and factorial structure of the Turkish version ofthe Whiteley Index (WI -7), a scale developed by Pilowskyand modified by Fink et al to measure hypochondriasisor health anxiety as an indicator of somatic stimulus and/ or changes along with its reliability, validity, and factorial structure. Method: The study was conducted inhealthy volunteers at a university school (n=240) and inpatients who are attending outpatient Psychiatry Clinic(n=120). Participants were administered the Turkish version of the Whiteley Index (Turkish WI -7), the SymptomCheck List (SCL-90R), and the Beck Depression Inventory.Results: Individual items (r=0.27-0.52) and total score(r=0.46) showed weak - to - moderate test -retest correlations. The Cronbach's coefficient was 0.78. In validityanalysis, significant differences were found betweentotal WI -7 scores of patients and healthy controls.Factor analysis yielded a two factor structure: somaticsymptoms / somatic preoccupation (items #1, #2, #4,#5 and #7) and disease worry / phobia (items #3 and#6). The Turkish WI -7 were correlated well with the SCL-90R subscales and the BDI. Conclusion: Despite certainlimitations, the internal consistency, test-retest reliability,validity and factorial structure of the Turkish version ofthe Whiteley Index were supported by its reliable psychometric properties and construct validity in a representative Turkish sample.
