Büyük Selçuklu ordusunda kullanılan savaş araç ve gereçleri (1038-1157)

Abstract

Selçuklular, XI-XII. yüzyıllarda Yakındoğu coğrafyasında hızlı bir şekilde sınırlarını genişlettiler. Gazneliler, Abbâsîler ve Bizans onlara karşı koyamadılar. Bu durumun en önemli sebebi Selçuklu ordusunun homojen bir yapıda olması ve onların hızlı atlı okçuluğu kusursuz bir şekilde uygulamalarıydı. Selçuklular, Orta Asya kültür sahasına ait ok-yay, kılıç, mızrak, zırh gibi savaş âletleriyle XI-XII. yüzyılda Yakındoğu coğrafyasını derinden etkilediler. Bununla birlikte muhasara âletlerinin kullanılması ve kuşatma savaşı teknikleri konusunda Arap, Fars ve Bizanslılar’dan birçok şey öğrendiler.

Saljuqs expanded their borders quickly in the Near East in the XI-XII. centuries. Ghaznavid, Abbāsīd and Byzantine couldn’t resist against the Saljuqs. The most important reason of this status was homogeneous of the Saljuq army and their performing fast horse archery perfectly. The Saljuqs influenced the Near East with arrow-bow, sword, spear and armor, belonging to the Central Asia arms zone in the XI-XII. centuries. At the same time, they learned a lot of things from the Arabs, the Persians and the Byzantines about using the siege weapons and techniques of siege war.
