ÖZEL YETENEKLİ ÖĞRENCİLERİN EĞİTİMİNE YÖNELİK SINIF ÖĞRETMENLERİNE UYGULANAN ETKİNLİK HAZIRLAMA EĞİTİMİNİN ETKİLİLİĞİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitimine yöneliksınıf öğretmenlerine uygulanan etkinlik hazırlama eğitiminin etkililiğinin incelenmesidir. Karma yöntemle gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmanın nicel boyutunda, tekgruplu ön-son test deseni şeklinde uygulanan yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır.Verilerin toplanmasında “Üstün Yetenekliler Eğitimine İlişkin Öz-yeterlik Ölçeği”nden yararlanılmıştır. Ölçek, 14 sınıf öğretmenine eğitim öncesinde ve sonrasında iki defa uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın nitel boyutunda ise eğitim sonundakatılımcı öğretmenlere yapılandırılmış açık uçlu görüşme soruları yöneltilmiştir.Nicel verilerin analizi için Wilcoxon işaretli sıralar testinden yararlanılmış olup,nitel verilerin çözümlenmesi ise içerik analizi ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel boyutunda elde edilen bulgularda, gerçekleştirilen programın katılımcı öğretmenlerin özel yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitimine yönelik akademik, mentorluk,uygun kişilik özellik, yaratıcılığı teşvik etme, öğretimsel planlama alanlarındakiöz-yeterlik algılarının anlamlı düzeyde arttırdığı ve programın olumlu etkiyesahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Buna karşın, uygulanan eğitim programının katılımcı öğretmenlerin özel yetenekli öğrencilerin eğitimine yönelik sorumlulukalanındaki öz-yeterlik algılarına herhangi bir etkisinin olmadığı saptanmıştır.Araştırma kapsamında nitel bulgulara dayalı olarak, etkinlik hazırlama eğitiminin katılımcı öğretmenler üzerinde oldukça olumlu etkileri olduğu söylenebilir.Buna göre nicel olarak elde edilen veriler, nitel olarak elde edilen veriler tarafından da desteklenmektedir.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the activity preparation training applied to classroom teachers aimed at educating gifted and talented students. In the quantitative phase of this study which is conducted by the mixed method, a quasi-experimental design applied in the form of a single group pre-post test design and the data were collected from the “Attitude Scale Towards Gifted Education”. In the qualitative phase of the study, the data were obtained with structured open-ended interview questions. For the analysis of quantitative data, Wilcoxon matched rank tests were used for comparing prepost test scores, and qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. In the quantitative phase, it was found that post test scores on areas related to teachers’ academic self-efficacy, academic mentoring, appropriate personality traits, promoting creativity, self-efficacy perceptions in instructional planning showed increased significantly showing the effectiveness of the program on teachers’ attitutes. On the other hand, it has been found that the training program applied does not have any effect on the self-efficacy perceptions of teachers in the area of responsibility for the training of gifted and talented students. Based on the interviews conducted within the scope of the study, it can be said that the activity preparation training has a very positive effect on the participating teachers. The quantitative results were supported by the qualitative results.
