Galata Sn. Pierre Kilisesi’nin tarihi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın konusu, XIII. yüzyılda Katolik kilisesinin yozlaşmış din anlayışına alternatif olarak doğan ve dilenci tarikatların önde gelenlerinden Dominiken tarikatının İstanbul’daki en önemli kiliselerinden Saint Pierre Kilisesi’inin tarihidir. Çalışmamız, Dominikenlerin ortaya çıkışından başlamaktadır. Tarikatın ortaya çıkışından hemen sonra İstanbul’a gelen Dominikenler, önce şu an Arapcami olan Perşembe pazarındaki kiliseye yerleşmişler. İstanbul’un Fethinden sonra da mevcut kiliselerine taşınmışlardır. Birinci bölümde XIII. yüzyılın sosyal ve dinî dinamikleriyle bağlantılı olarak Katolik Dominiken tarikatının kuruluşu ve yapılanması incelenmektedir. Daha sonra Türkiye’deki ve İstanbul’daki Dominikenlere değinilmektedir. İkinci bölümde ise Saint Pierre Kilisesi’nin Tarihi ayrıntılı şekilde aktarılırken günümüzdeki durumu da belirtilmiştir. Bu çalışma ile ülkemizde çalışılmamış olan Dominiken Tarikatının İstanbul’daki merkezi konumundaki Saint Pierre Kilisesi'ni ve onun araştırılmayı bekleyen arşivlerini bir nebze olsun akademisyenlere sunduk.

The subject of this research is about the history of Saint Pierre Church – one of the most significant churches of the Dominiken denomination – that arouse as an alternative to the corrupted apprehension of religion and is one of the leading beggar denominations. Our study starts with the existence of Dominikens. Having arrived in İstanbul just after the beginning of this denomination, Dominikens first settled in the church located at Perşembe Bazaar, which is now called “Arabic Mosque”. They moved to their present church after the Conquest of İstanbul. In the first part, the foundation and structure of Catholic Dominiken denomination have been analyzed with regards to the social and religious dynamics of the 13th century. Later on, Dominikens in Turkey and İstanbul are mentioned. In the second part, while the history of the Saint Pierre Church is reported in detail, its present status is declared as well. Our main objective in this study is to give the academicians a presentation of the central Saint Pierre Church of the Dominiken denomination and its archives which are waiting to be searched.
