Abstract
OTEL OLARAK İŞLEVLENDİRİLMİŞ TARİHİ YAPILARIN İNCELENMESİ Hazırlanan tez çalışmasında tarihi yapıların otel olarak işlevlendirilmesi konusu bilimsel olarak incelenmiş, bu konuda Türkiye ve Dünya çapında örnekler irdelenmiştir. Birinci bölümde, tez konusuna kısa bir giriş yapılmış, restorasyon kavramı açıklanmıştır. İkinci bölümde, tarih kavramı başlığı altında tarihi yapının tanımı yapılmış, tarihi çevre, kültür ve doğa varlığı kavramları açıklanmıştır. Bu bölümde anıt yapılar ve sit kavramlarının tanımları yapılarak sit çeşitleri de aktarılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde, koruma kavramının tanımı yapılarak, koruma eyleminin nedenleri irdelenmiştir. Kent ölçeğinde koruma kavramına da değinilerek koruma alanının tanımı yapılmıştır. Bölüm sonunda ise korumanın Avrupa ve Türkiye’deki geçmişi de anlatılmıştır. Bölüm, günümüzde koruma kavramının açıklanmasıyla sonlandırılmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde, restorasyon kavramının tanımı yapılarak, tarihi ve çağdaş restorasyon kuramları anlatılmış, restorasyon teknikleri, bu tekniklerden biri olan renovasyon konusu bilimsel olarak irdelenmiştir. Beşinci bölümde, tarihi yapılarda otel işlevi başlığı altında otel kavramı tanımlanmış, konaklama ihtiyacı ve konaklamanın tarihi konularına değinilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak, otel tasarımında dikkat edilecek faktörler ve otel işlevinin tarihi binanın restorasyonuna etkileri açıklanmıştır. Altıncı bölüm tez çalışmasının kataloğunu oluşturmaktadır. Burada, otel olarak işlevlendirilmiş tarihi yapılara örnek olarak seçilmiş 9 adet otelin tarihleri, konumları anlatılmış, restorasyon projeleri incelenerek basılı yayın, internet gibi kaynaklardan ve konuyla ilgili kişilerle yapılan röportajlardan edinilen bilgilerle restorasyon süreçleri aktarılmıştır. Bu otellerde, yapı işlev uyumu irdelenmiş ve yapıların iç mekan tasarımları incelenmiştir. Yedinci bölüm ise tez çalışmasının sonuç bölümüdür. Bu bölümde, yapılan çalışmanın sonucu olarak tarihi yapıları korumanın, yapıları terk edip, toplumdan soyutlayarak değil, ancak yaşatılarak yani yeni işlev verilerek mümkün olduğu bilimsel olarak ortaya konmuştur.
EXAMINATION OF THE HISTORICAL BUILDİNGS FUNCTIONED AS A HOTEL In this thesis, the subject of historical buildings functioned as a hotel is studied scientificially. Discussed national and international exemples. In the introduction part, a short introduction to the topic, a short expression of the concept of restoration. In the second part, the description of a historical building under the subject of history. Explained notions like, historical place, culture and natural assets. In addition, explained monuments and conservation. In the third part, explained concept of preservation and causes of preservation. Addressed the concept of protection of the urban scale, defined the subject of protected area. At the end of the part, explained the history of protection in Turkey and Europe. This part ends with explanation of actual concept of protection. In the fourth part,defined the concept of restoration. Explained historical and contemporary theories of restoration. Described techniques of restoration. and renovation scientificially as a technique of restoration. In the fifth part, defined the concept of the hotel under the subject of hotel function in historical buildings. Explained needs of accommodation end the history of accommodation. In addition, explained factors to be considered in design of a hotel and the effects of the restorastion of the historic building the hotel function. Sixth part is the catalog of this thesis. In this part, sampled 9 hotels as historic building functioned as a hotel. Explained their history and location. Examined their restoration projects. Explained their process of restoration according to informations obtained from written sources and interviews. Examined suitability between structure and function, and their interior designs. Last part is the conclusion part of this thesis. As a result of the study, protection of a historical building is not possible with excluding the building. It is possible with renovation. Giving the structure a new function is the best method of preserving.
