Abstract
ÖZETTÜRKİYE’DE MODERNLEŞME, TOPLUMSAL DEĞİŞİM VE RAMAZAN AYITürk modernleşmesi sürecinde Cumhuriyet ile yaşanan toplumsal değişim ve değişimin dine olan etkisi üzerinde durulması gereken önemli bir konudur. Özellikle Cumhuriyetin ilk yılları Türkiye’de yaşanan modernleşmenin dine olan etkilerini anlamak açısından önemli bir tarihsel zaman olup çalışmada sosyo-politik değişimin toplumun dinsel yaşantısına nasıl etkileri olduğu ramazan ayı özelinde ele alınmıştır. Çalışmamız; girişten sonra üç bölüm ve sonuçtan oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümü; araştırmanın konusu ve amacı, metodu, literatür ve araştırmanın önemi ile ilgili bilgileri içermektedir. Araştırmamızın ramazan ve sosyal hayat arasındaki ilişkinin ele alındığı, Osmanlı’da yaşanan ramazanların konu edinildiği ve ramazan sosyolojisinin yapıldığı bölüm ilk kısmı oluşturmaktadır. İkinci bölüm ise toplumsal değişim ve modernleşme kavramları temelinde araştırmanın kavramsal çerçevesinin oluşturulduğu bölümüdür. Üçüncü bölümde ise Cumhuriyet gazetesinin 1930-1980 yılları arasında yayınladığı ramazan haberleri ve köşe yazıları üzerinden içerik analizi yapılmış, elde edilen bulgular yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuç kısmı elde edilen bulguların değerlendirildiği, araştırma sorularının cevaplandığı ve yapılacak yeni araştırmalar için önerilerin bulunduğu bölümdür.
ABSTRACTSocial change with the establishment of the Turkish Republic in the process of Turkish modernization and the influence of the social change on religion is an important issue that should be emphasized. The first years of the Turkish Republic, especially, are considered as an important historical time in terms of understanding the effects of modernization of Turkey on religion and how socio-political changes affected the religious life of the community was discussed in terms of Ramadan. My study; consists of three parts besides the introduction and the conclusion. The introduction part includes information about the subject, the aim and the importance of the research, as well as the method, literature review and the research questions. The first part of the study I discuss the relationship between Ramadan and social life, thus offer a sociological perspective to ramadan. In addition, in this part I illustrate Ramadan customs in Turkish culture from time of Ottoman Empire to modern Turkey. In the second part, I introduce the conceptual frame of my research which was constructed on the basis of the concepts of social change and modernization. In the third part the research, I conduct content analysis over Ramadan news published in Cumhuriyet Newspaper between the years of 1930-1980, and the findings were analyzed.
