Yeni Şafak Gazetesi’nin yayın politikası ve haber söylemi

Abstract

Yayın Politikası, Haber Söylemi ÖZET YENİ ŞAFAK GAZETESİ’NİN YAYIN POLİTİKASI VE HABER SÖYLEMİ Bu çalışmada amaçlanan, Yeni Şafak gazetesinin yayın politikasını ve haber söylemini araştırmaktır. Bu amaçla, 1998 yılından günümüze çalışmanın konusu kapsamında olan haberler seçilerek incelenmiştir. Başörtüsü-türban, İmam Hatip okulları, sekiz yıllık kesintisiz temel eğitim, Kürt meselesi, AKP hükümeti, Türkiye’nin AB üyeliği, başörtüsü yasağı ve YÖK, Türkiye’de 2002 seçimleri ve sonuçları, Kürt açılımı başlıklı konuları içeren haberler kapsamında; gazetenin yayın politikası ve içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenen haber söylemi ele alınmıştır. Hem konulara göre yapılan arşiv taramasında toplanan siyasi gündem haberlerinde hem de bu haberler üzerinde uygulanan içerik analizi çalışmaları sonucunda görülmüştür ki Yeni Şafak gazetesinin duruşu; İslami kökenlerine bağlı ve demokrasi vurgusunun ağır bastığı, yeniliklere açık ama bir yandan da muhafazakârlığını koruyan, düz haber dilinden uzaklaşıp propaganda metinlerinin özelliklerine benzerlikler gösteren bir çerçeve çizmektedir. PUBLICATION POLICY AND NEWS DISCOURSE OF YENİ The aim in this study is to analyze the publication policy and news discourse of the Yeni Şafak daily (New Dawn). To this aim, the stories with the content in the same issue as the study, since 1998, were selected and examined. With regards to the stories about the issues on headscarves, İmam Hatip vocational high schools, eight-year uninterrupted basic education, Kurdish issue, AKP government, Turkey’s EU membership, headscarf ban and YÖK, the 2002 elections in Turkey and its results were examined using the content analysis method to analyze the news discourse and publication policy of the newspaper. Both the archive screening made based on topics and the studies of content analysis on these stories indicated that the position of the Yeni Şafak daily is drawing a framework, which is close to its Islamic origins and underlines the issue of democracy, is open to new approaches but also retains its conservatism, is getting far from the ordinary language of newspaper stories to use a language with the features with similarities to propaganda texts.
