Publication: Impacts of corporate governance issues on values of Turkish companies
Abstract
Bu çalışma kurumsal yönetim ile Türkiye'deki şirketlerin performansı arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektedir. Çalışmanın birinci kısmında konunun teorik çerçevesi tanımlanmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci kısmı kurumsal yönetimin Türkiye'deki uygulaması ele alınmaktadır. Kurumsal yönetim ile şirketlerin operasyonel ve finansal performansları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek için İMKB 30 endeksi kapsamındaki şirketler üzerinde anket çalışması yapılmıştır ve kurumsal yönetim endeksi oluşturulmuştur. Empirik sonuçlar KYE ile Kümülatif Düzeltilmiş Getiri arasındaki geçerli ve positif bir ilişkinin var olduğunu göstermektedir
This study ivestigates the relationship between the corporate governance and performance of companies in Turkey. In the first part of the study theoretical framework of corporate governance is described. Second part of the paper presents the application of corporate governance in Turkey . To estimate the connection between corporate governance and financial and operating performance, companies under the scope of IMKB-30 index were surveyed and a corporate governance index was established. Empirical results show presence of statistically significant positive relationship between CGI and Cumulative Adjusted Return.
