Abstract
Narsisizm, Liderlik, Narsistik Liderlik, Narsisizm ve Liderlik ÖZET NARSİSTİK LİDERLİK Narsisizm, kimi araştırmacılar tarafından sadece patolojik olarak ele alınmış, kimileri tarafından ise her insanın doğasında bulunan sağlıklı şekilleri olduğu kabul edilmiştir. Çeşitli araştırmalarla narsistik özelliklerin; kişiler arası ilişkiler, performans, özsaygı gibi, liderlik tipleri üzerinde etkili olan birçok faktörü etkilediği kanıtlanmıştır. Narsistik skorları yüksek bireylerin liderlik nitelikleri açısından konuya yaklaşıldığında ise üretken ve üretken olmayan narsist lider tanımlamasıyla karşılaşılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, liderlerin narsistik eğilimleri ile demografik özellikleri ve iş hayatındaki deneyimleri arasındaki ilişki sorgulanmıştır. Araştırmada orijinali 2005 yılında Daniel R. Ames, ve arkadaşları tarafından düzenlenen 16 soruluk Narsistik Kişilik Ölçeğinin, 2009 yılında Salim Atay tarafından Türkçeleştirilen ve revizyonu yapılan 15 soruluk formu kullanılmıştır. Surveymonkey anket yazılımı aracılığıyla 26 farklı sektördeki 171 yöneticiden elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesinde, verinin niteliğine uygun analiz yönetmeleri tercih edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda yöneticilerin cinsiyetlerinin, yaşlarının, doğum yerlerinin, yedi yaşa kadar büyüdükleri yerin, kardeş sayılarının ve kardeşler arası durumlarının narsisizm boyutlarındaki skorlarını etkilediği görülmüştür. Ayrıca narsisizmin boyutlarında alınan skorların, deneyim süresi ve işteki pozisyon ile ilişkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. NARCISSISTIC LEADERSHIP Some researchers have treated narcissism solely as a question of pathology, whereas others have taken it to be a matter of human nature and recognized the healthy types of it. The influence of narcissistic attributes on many factors such as; interpersonal relations, performance, self-respect which are effective on leadership types, have been shown in various researches. When the subject-matter is approached in terms of leadership qualities of individuals with high narcissistic scores, the distinction between productive and unproductive narcissistic leaders is encountered. This study investigates the relation between the narcissistic tendencies of leaders and their demographical facts and experiences in the business life. The fifteen-question form of Narcissistic Personality Inventory, the original of which has been devised by Daniel R. Ames and his friends, and which Salim Atay has revised and translated into Turkish in 2009, has been used in the research. Data-friendly analysis methods have been preferred in the evaluation of the data that have been obtained by Surveymonkey software from 171 managers working in 26 different sectors. As a result of the analyses, it has been observed that, the scores of managers’ narcissism dimensions have been influenced by their sex, age, birth place, growth place (up until age seven), the number of their siblings and the relations among the siblings. The scores obtained in dimensions of narcissism have also been revealed to be related to the amount of experience and to the job position.
