Publication: Anton von Prokesch-Osten’in İstanbul elçiliği (1856-1871)
Abstract
Bu çalışmada 1856-1871 yılları arasında İstanbul’da görev yapan Avusturya- Macaristan elçisi Anton von Prokesch-Osten’in hayat hikayesi ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde Prokesch’in elçilik öncesi hayatı anlatılmış, ikinci ve üçüncü bölümlerinde ise İstanbul’daki faaliyetleri incelenmiştir. Prokesch İstanbul’da elçiyken pek çok meseleye müdahil olmuş, Osmanlı Devleti’nin sadece Avusturya’yla değil bütün Avrupa’yla olan ilişkilerinde etkili olmuştur. Çalışma esas olarak Osmanlı Arşivi’ne, Prokesch’in kendi yazdıklarına ve literatüre dayanmaktadır. Osmanlı arşiv belgeleri mevcut literatüre önemli katkılar yapmaktadır.
In this study, the life story of the Austro-Hungarian ambassador Anton von Prokesch-Osten, who worked in İstanbul between 1856-1871, is discussed. In the first part of the study, Prokesch’s life before his embassy was explained. In the second and third chapters, his activities in İstanbul were examined. While Prokesch was an ambassador in İstanbul, he was involved in many issues and he was influential in the relations of the Ottoman Empire is not only with Austria, but also with other Europian countries. This study is mainly based on the records in the Ottoman Archives. Prokesch’s own writings and literature. There is no doubt that Ottoman archival documents make important contributions to the existing literature.
