Boğaziçi Mecmuası'nın edebî yönü ve bibliyografyası

Abstract

Boğaziçi Mecmuası'nın Edebî Yönü ve Bibliyografyası adlı çalışmada, Boğaziçi'nde yolcu ve yük taşımacılığını profesyonel şekilde başlatan, ulaşımın kolaylaşması için öncü çalışmalar yürüten Şirket-i Hayriye'nin; Boğaziçi'nin mamur hâle getirilip tanıtılması, rağbet görmesi için yaptığı kapsamlı faaliyetlere odaklanıldı. Çalışmada, Boğaziçi Mecmuası'nın edebî yönüne ağırlık verildi. Boğaziçi'nin tarihî, siyasi, sosyal, ekonomik, kültürel, vb. unsurlar dönemin önemli fikir insanlarının ele aldığı yazılarla öne çıkarıldı. Sahibi Sadi Akant, Yazı İşleri Müdürü Yusuf Mardin olan mecmuanın iki yıl boyunca yayımlanan on sekiz sayısı detaylı bir incelemeyle çeşitli bölümlere ayrıldı. Dört bölümden oluşan tezin birinci bölümünde, Boğaziçi'nin mecmuada tarihî süreç içinde ne şekilde ele alındığına yer verildi. Bu noktada Şirket-i Hayriye'nin ulaşımı kolaylaştırma adına yaptığı girişimler, İstanbul'un deniz ulaşımındaki gelişmeler dönem perspektifinde yorumlandı. İkinci bölümde, Boğaziçi'nin coğrafi yapısının ve doğal güzelliklerinin mecmuada nasıl yorumlandığına dikkat çekilerek Boğaziçi'nde yaşama kültürüne dair detaylara vurgu yapıldı. Üçüncü bölümde sadece mecmuada ele alınan mimari ve tarihî yapılara yer verilerek bu kapsamın dışına çıkılmadı. Son bölümde ise tezin ana kısmını oluşturan, Boğaziçi'nde yaşamış veya buranın kültürünü yaşatma gayesi edinmiş dönemin önemli şahsiyetlerinin yazılarına, edebî yönden odaklanıldı. Bu minvalde Boğaziçi Mecmuası'nda yer verilen şiirler ve düzyazı türleri tasniflenip dönemin dil ve edebiyat algısı dikkate alındı. Çok kültürlü yapısıyla öne çıkan İstanbul'un yaşadığı değişimleri görmek medeniyetimizin kültürel kodlarını daha iyi anlama ve özümseme adına önem teşkil eder. Bu tezde, modernleşmeyle hızlı değişimlerin yaşandığı cumhuriyet dönemine Boğaziçi Mecmuası perspektifinden bakılarak bu dönemin ulaşım, sanayi, sosyokültürel vb. yönleri esas alındı. Tezin amacı, Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel, Hüseyin Cahit Yalçın gibi Türk edebiyatının önemli şahsiyetlerinin yazılarıyla katkı sağladığı mecmuanın, edebî açıdan ele alınıp dönemin toplumsal ve bireysel hayatının daha iyi idrak edilebilmesine katkı sunmaktır. Boğaziçi Mecmuası'nda bulunan yazılarda, şair ve yazarların hayatlarıyla ilgili bilgilere ilişkili olunan kısımlarda gerektiği nispette yer verildi. Böylece mecmua üzerinden sosyal ve siyasi yapıdaki değişimlerin edebiyat üzerindeki etkisinin de daha iyi anlaşılacağı fikrindeyiz.

In the study titled Literary Aspect and Bibliography of Boğaziçi Magazine, The focus was on Şirket-i Hayriye's extensive activities, which professionally started passenger and freight transportation in the Bosphorus, and carried out pioneering works for the facilitation of transportation; to make the Bosphorus flourishing, promote it and make it popular. In the study, the literary aspect of Boğaziçi Magazine was emphasized. Bosphorus's historical, political, social, economic, cultural, etc. elements were brought to the fore with the writings of the important intellectuals of the period. The magazine, whose owner is Sadi Akant and Editor-in-Chief Yusuf Mardin, which was published eighteen issues for two years, was divided into various sections with a detailed analysis. In the first part of the thesis, which consists of four parts, how the Bosphorus was handled in the historical process in the magazine was given. At this point, the attempts of Şirket-i Hayriye to facilitate transportation and the developments in Istanbul's maritime transportation were interpreted from the perspective of the period. In the second part, attention was drawn to how the geographical structure and natural beauties of the Bosphorus were interpreted in the magazine, and the details of the culture of living in the Bosphorus were emphasized. In the third part, only the architectural and historical structures that were discussed in the magazine were included, and this scope was not exceeded. In the last part, the main part of the thesis, the writings of the important personalities of the period who lived in the Bosphorus or who aimed to keep the culture of this place alive, were focused on in terms of literature. In this way, poems and prose types in Boğaziçi Magazine were classified and the language and literature perception of the period was taken into consideration. Seeing the changes experienced by Istanbul, which stands out with its multicultural structure, is important for a better understanding and assimilation of the cultural codes of our civilization. In this thesis, by looking at the republican period, in which rapid changes were experienced with modernization, from the perspective of Boğaziçi Magazine, this period's transportation, industry, socio-cultural etc. aspects is based. The aim of the thesis is to contribute to a better understanding of the social and individual life of the period by dealing with the literary aspect of the magazine, to which important figures of Turkish literature such as Yahya Kemal Beyatlı, Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel, Hüseyin Cahit Yalçın contributed with their writings. In the articles in Boğaziçi Magazine, information about the lives of poets and writers was given as necessary in the relevant sections. Thus, we think that the effect of the changes in the social and political structure on literature can be better understood through the magazine.
