Abstract
Elçin’in üçüncü ve en kapsamlı eseri olan Ölüm Hükmü, Sovyetler Birliği’nin yetmiş yıldaki panoraması_x000D_
olarak değerlendirilebilecek niteliktedir. Roman, müstakil gibi görünen, ancak her biri diğerleriyle bağlantılı_x000D_
on sekiz bölümden oluşmaktadır. Elçin her bölümde farklı karakterler üzerinden Sovyet sisteminin_x000D_
eleştirisini yapar. Romanda karakterlerin birey olma bilinci ve benlik duygusunun kolektivitenin önüne_x000D_
geçtiği görülür. Bu durum sistem ve insan arasında çeşitli çatışmalar meydana getirir. Rüşvet, iltimas ve_x000D_
giderek artan liyakatsizlik insanlara bu dünyada cennet vadeden düzenin bozulmasına sebep olur. Sovyet_x000D_
sistemi, din yerine ikame ettiği ideolojisinin eleştirilmesini olanaksız kılar. Bu durum, sistemde oluşan_x000D_
çatlakların onarılmasını da imkânsız hâle getirir. Elçin, Ölüm Hükmü romanında 1929-1983 yılları_x000D_
arasındaki toplumsal, siyasi, ekonomik yozlaşmaya karakterlerin hikâyeleri vasıtasıyla ışık tutar. Konusunu_x000D_
yakın tarihten alan Ölüm Hükmü, Sovyet döneminin gerçekliklerini tüm çıplaklığıyla aktarırken okuru_x000D_
tarihsel gerçeklik-kurgu ekseninde dolaştırır. Bu bağlamda yazar, geriye dönüş tekniğini kullanarak on_x000D_
sekiz bölümdeki farklı hikâyeleri birbiriyle ilişkilendirir ve bir bütün oluşturur. Bu makalede Ölüm Hükmü_x000D_
üzerinden Sovyetler Birliği’nin sistem ve değerlerindeki yozlaşma incelenmiş, eser tarihî roman ve tarihsel_x000D_
gerçeklik bağlamında ele alınmıştır.
Ölüm Hükmü, the third and most comprehensive work of Elçin, can be evaluated as the panorama of the_x000D_ Soviet Union within seventy years. The novel consists of eighteen chapters which appear to be independent_x000D_ but in fact, each connected with the others. Elçin criticizes the Soviet system through different characters in_x000D_ each episode. In the novel, it can be seen that the consciousness of being an individual and the sense of self_x000D_ outweigh the collectivity. This situation creates various conflicts between the system and human. Bribery,_x000D_ favoritism and increasing incompetence cause the order that promises people heaven in this world to_x000D_ deteriorate. The Soviet system makes it impossible to criticize the ideology which it substituted for religion._x000D_ This also makes it impossible to repair cracks in the system. In his novel Ölüm Hükmü, Elçin sheds light on_x000D_ the social, political and economic degeneration between 1929-1983 through the stories of the characters._x000D_ Taking its subject from recent history, Ölüm Hükmü guide the reader through the axis of historical realityfiction, while conveying the realities of the Soviet period in all its nakedness. In this context, the author_x000D_ relates the different stories in eighteen chapters to each other and forms an entirety by using the flashback_x000D_ technique. In this article, the corruption in the system and values of the Soviet Union has been examined_x000D_ through the Ölüm Hükmü, and the said novel has been discussed in the context of historical novel and_x000D_ historical reality.
