Abstract

Araştırmanın konusu, II. Bayezid döneminde yaşayan Behiştî mahlaslı Karıştıran Süleyman Beyoğlu Ahmed Çelebi’nin hayatı ve I. Bayezid’den II. Bayezid’e kadar olan Osmanlı padişahlarının siyasî faaliyetlerini kapsayan tarih eseridir. Çalışmamız, giriş, metin ve dizin olmak üzere üç bölümden meydana gelmektedir. Giriş bölümünde, öncelikle yazarın kendi eserlerinden ve diğer bibliyografik kaynaklardan elde edilen bilgilerle hayatı ve eserleri ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Daha sonra Behiştî Târihi’nin tespit edilebilen nüshaları tanıtılmıştır. Kaynakları bölümünde öncelikle Behiştî’nin eserinde çeşitli şekillerde ifade ettiği kaynaklar değerlendirilmiş, daha sonra da üslup ve verdiği bilgilere göre yazarın faydalandığı diğer kaynaklar tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Behiştî’nin kendisinden sonra gelen tarihçiler üzerinde bir tesirinin olup olmadığı araştırılmış ve yazarımızın günümüzde olduğu gibi Osmanlı döneminde de çok fazla başvurulan bir kaynak olmadığı anlaşılmıştır. Çalışmada müellifin üslubu ve tarihçiliği değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Metnin tesisine dair yapılan açıklamaların akabinde Behiştî Târihi’nin çeviri metnine yer verilmiştir. Tezin sonunda ise şahıs, yer, kavim adları ve terimlere dair dizin bulunmaktadır.

The subject of this research is about the life of Karıştıran Süleyman Beyoğlu Ahmed Çelebi with a pen name of Behiştî and his historical work on the political activities of Ottoman Sultans’ from Bayezid the first to Bayezid the second. Our work consists of three parts: introduction, main text and index. In introduction, primarily the life and works of the author is presented using his books and other bibliographic resources. Next the confirmed editions of his book, the history of Behiştî, are introduced. In the reference section, first the resources mentioned in different ways in Behiştî’s works are analyzed and then other resources he used were tried to be determined based on his style and information given by him. Whether Behişti has an influence on the historians after him or not is investigated and found that the author had not been referred much in the Ottoman period which is similar to today. In this study the style of the author and the quality of his work as a historian is reviewed. After the explanations about the creation of the text, a translation of the History of Behişti (Behiştî Târihi) is added. At the end of the thesis an index of people, places, nations and terms is included.
