Abstract

Son yıllarda, temel gelir kuramına ilişkin uluslararası tartışmalar önemli ölçüde yoğunlaştı. Bugün, temel gelir, ya da diğer adıyla vatandaşlık geliri mevcut sosyal güvenlik sistemlerinin işlev bozukluğuna ve kapitalizmin potansiyel krizlerine karşı önerilen alternatif bir sosyal güvenlik politikası önerisidir. Bu önerilerde, bu fikrin herkes için gerçek özgürlükü sağlayabilecek bir potansiyeli olduğu düşüncesi hakimdir. Bu noktada, temel gelir kuramı ile sosyal adalet arasında bağlantı kurmak ilginç olabilir. Çalışmamıza cinsiyet analizini de dahil edeceğiz. Son olarak, çalışmanın sonunda, iyi işleyen diğer refah devleti politikalarıyla birlikte uygulandığı takdirde, dikkatle hesaplanmış bir temel gelirin cinsiyetçi olmayan sosyal adaleti gerçekleştirmenin ilk adımı olarak görülebileceği sonucuna varıyoruz.In recent years, international debates on basic income theory have intensified significantly. Today, basic income, also known as citizen’s income, is an alternative social security policy proposal which was suggested against the dysfunction of existing social security systems and potential crises of capitalism. These proposals are dominated by the idea that this idea has the potential to provide real freedom for all. At this point, it may be interesting to make a connection between basic income theory and social justice. For this, it is necessary to make a social justice-based critique of the basic income idea, including gender analysis, especially from a feminist perspective, given that gender equality is generally ignored in contemporary theories of justice. This critique should include a feminist debate on the potential implications of basic income theory at the point of contributing to gender equality. In feminist basic income literature, however, such an analysis is often lacking. Therefore, this research deals with a basic income analysis model within the framework of social justice, starting with feminist theory and taking into account the concept of gender. At this point, this work is of an important quality and acquires an original value. The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential effects of this proposal on the concept of gender and in this way what effects it may have on the re-conceptualization of social justice on a gender-neutral basis. Therefore, this study is mainly focusing on the following question: What would be the possible contribution of an unconditional basic income paid in cash by a welfare state at regular intervals to gender equality and, in this way, to a new understanding and conceptualization of social justice that is gender-neutral?. On this basis, this work examines basic income proposals in light of feminist arguments about gender inequalities and the sexist nature of contemporary theories of Justice. Articles and resources from feminist literature on basic income will be used in this study. Our methodological approach will be both discourse analysis and content analysis. We will also include gender analysis in our work. Finally, at the end of the study, we come to the conclusion that a carefully calculated basic income can be seen as the first step towards achieving non-sexist social justice, if it is implemented with other well functioning welfare state policies.
