Türkiye’de tipo ve ofset matbaacılığa geçişle birlikte değişen tipografik alışkanlıklar ve çağdaş türk grafik tasarımındaki önemli yansımaları

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasında, matbaacılık tarihindeki gelişmeler ve bu bağlamda Türkiye’de 1928-1950 dönemine ait gazete başlık metinleri üzerinden, değişen tipografik alışkanlıkların incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Matbaacılık tarihinde yaşanan teknolojik gelişmelerin, grafik sanatların doğuşunda ve gelişmesinde de önemli etkileri olduğunu savunan tez, bu gelişmelerin Türk basım hayatındaki ve grafik tasarımındaki etkilerini aramayı amaçlamıştır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde, evrensel matbaacılık tarihi ve en önemli teknolojik gelişmeler kronolojik olarak ele alınacaktır. İkinci bölümde Osmanlı ve Türkiye Cumhuriyetin’deki önemli matbaacılık faaliyetleri ve öne çıkan süreli yayınlar tarihsel olarak incelenecektir. Tezin üçüncü bölümünde, dünyadaki ekonomik, sosyopolitik gelişmelerin ülkemizdeki yansımaları ve 1950’li yıllara kadar tipo matbaacılık ve grafik tasarım alanında üretimler yapmış kişilere ve süreli yayınlara değinilecektir. Son bölümünde ise Türkiye’de 1928-1950 dönemine ait gazete başlık metinleri, özellikle Ulus ve Cumhuriyet gazeteleri referans alınarak, ‘tipo baskıdan, ofset matbaacılığa geçişte değişen tipografik alışkanlıklar’ bağlamında değerlendirecektir. pografi, Matbaacılık Tarihi, Grafik Tasarım, Tipografik Alışkanlıklar

This thesis work aims to scope the history of printing press and in this respect, voyeuring the changing typographic habits in Turkey around 1928-1950 over newspaper headline texts. Thesis advocates that the technological improvements in the printing press history is also has a definite impact on the birth & progression of modern graphic arts. While defining those historical marks, this work also searches the effects of these inprovements in Turkish print culture and graphic arts. First part of the thesis is about the universal history of the printing press and most important technological improvements in chronological order. Second part deals with the activites and improvements of printing in Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic, whilst giving examples of the most important puplications and their authors of their time. Third part of the thesis deals with the master works and masters of typo printing and graphic arts in Turkey in the 1950’s, under the influence of sociopolitical and economic phenomena around the globe. Concluding part of the thesis focuses on the headline texts in Ulus and Cumhuriyet newspapers around the 1928-1950 period, aiming to reveal the changes in the typographic habits while having a shift from typo printing to modern offset printing.
