Publication: Hemşirelerin izlenim yönetimi taktikleri ve örgüt kültürü algıları
Abstract
Amaç: Araştırma hemşirelerin izlenim yönetimi taktikleri ve örgüt kültürü algılarını belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma İstanbul ilinde 12 kamu hastanesinde çalışmakta olan 341 hemşire ile tanımlayıcı nitelikte gerçekleştirildi. Veriler Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu, İzlenim Yönetimi Ölçeği ve Denison Örgüt Kültürü Ölçeği kullanılarak toplandı. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, Student’s t test, Mann Whitney U test, One-way ANOVA test, Bonferroni test, Games-Howell test, Kruskal Wallis test kullanıldı. Bulgular: Hemşirelerin yaş ortalaması 30,73±7,41 yıl olup, %89,4'ü kadın, %50,7’si bekar, %66’sı lisans mezunu, %35,8'i 10 yıl ve üzeri mesleki deneyime sahiptir. Hemşirelerin İzlenim Yönetimi Ölçeği toplam ve kendini acındırmaya çalışma, niteliklerini tanıtarak kendini sevdirmeye çalışma, kendini örnek bir personel gibi göstermeye çalışma, kendi önemini zorla fark ettirmeye çalışma, işine sahip çıkmaya çalışma alt boyut puan ortalamaları sırasıyla 1,54±0,52, 1,26±0,55, 1,91±0,62, 1,28±0,57, 1,28±0,61, 1,97±0,93 olarak, Denison Örgüt Kültürü Ölçeği toplam ve katılım, tutarlılık, uyum yapma, misyon alt boyut puan ortalamaları ise sırasıyla 3,15±0,55, 3,29±0,65, 3,08±0,63, 3,13±0,57, 3,09±0,65 olarak saptandı. Erkek ve çalıştığı kurumdan memnun olmayan hemşirelerin izlenim yönetimi taktiklerini kullanmasını etkilediği, 40 yaş ve üstünde olan, dahili birimlerde, gündüz, sorumlu hemşire olarak çalışan, 10 yıl ve üzeri mesleki ve kurum deneyimine sahip, mesleğinden ve kurumundan memnun olan, çalışma koşullarını ve meslektaşlarla işbirliğini iyi olarak değerlendiren hemşirelerin örgüt kültürü algısını etkilediği saptandı.Sonuç: Hemşirelerin izlenim yönetimi taktiklerini az kullandığı ve örgüt kültürü algısının ise orta düzeyde olduğu görüldü.
Aim: The research was performed to determine nurses' impression management tactics and organizational culture perceptions. Material and Method: This descriptive study was carried out with 341 nurses working in 12 public hospitals in Istanbul. Data were collected using the Introductory Information Form, Impression Management Scale and Denison Organizational Culture Scale. Descriptive statistics, Student’s t test, Mann Whitney U test, One-way ANOVA test, Bonferroni test, Games-Howell test and Kruskal Wallis test were used to analyze the data. Results: Nurses had a mean age of 30.73±7.41 years, and 89.4% of them were women, 50.7% were single, 66% had bachelor's degree, and 35.8% had professional experience of 10 years or more. Nurses’ total score from the Impression Management Scale and mean scores from the supplication, self promotion and ingratiation, exemplification, intimidation and job chauvinism subscales were 1.54±0.52, 1.26±0.55, 1.91±0.62, 1.28±0.57, 1.28±0.61 and 1.97±0.93 respectively, while their total score from the Denison Organizational Culture Scale and mean scores from involvement, consistency, adaptability and mission subscales were 3.15±0.55, 3.29±0.65, 3.08±0.63, 3.13±0.57 and 3.09±0.65, respectively. It was determined that the use of impression management tactics was affected in male nurses and in those who were unhappy with the institution they worked, and that organizational culture perception was affected in nurses who were 40 years of age and over, worked in internal units, worked daytime and as a charge nurse, had professional and corporate experience of 10 years and over, were satisfied with the profession and the institution, and rated working conditions and cooperation with colleagues as good.Conclusion: Nurses used impression management tactics insufficiently and their organizational culture perception was moderate.
