Abstract
The research investigated the electrochemical properties and biocompatibility of injection molded Ti10Nb10Zr powder. Ti10Nb10Zr alloy powders were used with the polymeric binders for injection molding process. A feedstock containing 55 vol.% powder loading was molded in a standard mold. The binders were completely removed from molded components by solvent and thermal debinding at different temperatures. The debinded samples were sintered at 1500°C for 3 h at high vacuum. The electrochemical property and biocompatibility of the sintered samples were performed electrochemically, by self body fluid (SBF) immersion tests and cell culture experiments. The results of the study showed that sintered alloy samples exhibited high corrosion resistance and biocompatibility in a physiological environment.
