Yunanistan'da hâlâ ayakta bir Osmanlı: narda(arta) saat kulesi

Abstract

Saat kulesi inşa etme geleneği Avrupa’da XIII. yüzyıldan itibaren görülmeye başlamış ve XIV. yüzyılda yaygınlaşmıştır. Osmanlı topraklarına ise Kanunî Sultan Süleyman döneminden hemen sonra, XVI. yüzyıl sonlarında girmiş, XVIII. yüzyıl ile beraber gelişip yayılmıştır. Osmanlı Devleti’nde saat kulesi yapımı Osmanlıların batılılaşma süreciyle de ilgili olarak; Sultan II. Abdülhamid’in tahta çıkışının 25. sene-i devriyesinde (1901- 1902), valilere saat kulesi yapımıyla ilgili gönderdiği irâde ile başlar. Bu çalışmamızda Yunanistan’da yaptığımız arazi çalışması sonrasında ayakta olduğunu tespit ettiğimiz Narda Saat Kulesi ilk defa seyahatnâmeler,

The tradition of building clock towers started to be seen in Europe from the 13th century and became widespread in the 14th century. It entered the Ottoman lands at the end of the 16th century, right after the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, and developed and spread with the 18th century. Clock tower construction in the Ottoman Empire In relation to the westernization process of the Ottomans; It begins with the order sent to the governors regarding the construction of the clock tower in the 25th year of Sultan Abdulhamid II's accession to the throne (1901-1902). In this study, the Narda (Arta) Clock Tower, which we determined to be standing after the fieldwork we did in Greece, will be introduced to the scientific world for the first time by considering travel books, Greek and Turkish scientific sources.
