Sağlık haberlerinde kadın bedeninin sunumu

Abstract

Demokratik toplum yapısının oluşumda önemli yükümlülükleri olan medya, toplumun iki temel unsuru olan kadın ve erkek temsilleri konusunda eşitlikçi olmayan yaklaşım içerisindedir. Medyadaki kadın ve erkek temsilleri, sosyo-kültürel yapı ile ekonomik sistem tarafından kurgulanan toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinden etkilenmektedir. Kadına çok daha olumlu ve özgürleştirici rol modelleri sunması beklenen medya, cinsiyetçi kadın temsillerine yer vererek, toplumsal yaşam içerisinde kadına yönelik davranış ve tutumların devamlılığını sağlamakta, mevcut statükoyu desteklemektedir. Gerçeklikle/ doğrulukla olan bağlantısından ötürü en tarafsız görünen medya ürünlerinden olan haberde dahi gerek içerikte gerekse kullanılan görsellerde kadına yönelik cinsiyetçi yaklaşım dikkat çekicidir. Bu tez çalışması merkezine sağlık haberleri ve fotoğraflarını alarak, spesifik bir alana dikkat çekmekte, toplumsal cinsiyet algısı ve cinsiyetçi yaklaşımların medya aracılığıyla hangi biçimlerde sunulduğunu analiz etmektedir. Toplum sağlığını ilgilendiren ve okuyucu için referans alınabilen sağlık haberlerinde cinsiyetçi kodlar veya doğrudan ifadelerin yer alması, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitsizliğinde medyanın rolünü ortaya koymaktadır. Important obligations of a democratic society the media on the formation of society, male and female representation on the two basic elements which are non-egalitarian in approach.
