Abstract

Toplumsal ve bireysel yaşam alanını organize eden geleneksel kültürel değerler ve formlar modern araçlarla değişmiş, dönüşmüş ve yoksunlaşmıştır. Bugün kültürel yoksunlaşma dijital medya aygıtları ve platformları üzerinden yoğun bir biçimde devam etmektedir. Bu bağlamıyla çalışma modern insanın dijital medya alanında yaşadığı kültürel yoksunlaşma emarelerini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu kapsamda ilk bölümde kültür kavramı, terim olarak tanımları, mahiyeti ve işlevlerine değinilmekte, kültürün somut ve soyut değerleri ve formları anlatılmaktadır. Yerleşim mekanlarına ve dönemlerine göre kültürel değerler ve formlar sırasıyla ele alınarak incelenmektedir. Buna paralel bir şekilde kültürel yoksunlaşma kavramı anlatılmaktadır. İkinci bölümde yoğun bir biçimde modernite, burjuva toplumu ve kültürel yoksunlaşma ilişkisine odaklanılmaktadır. Sanayi devrimi ve endüstrileşme ile modern dönemin aktörü olma rolünü alan burjuva / burjuvazinin kişilik ve karakter özelliklerine yer verilmektedir. Bu bakışla kitle toplumunun inşasında büyük bir rol oynayan burjuvazinin modern dönemde kültürel değerlerin ve formların değişim ve dönüşüm sürecindeki rolü irdelenmektedir. Burjuvazi modern dönemde bir çok gelişmenin öncüsü olmuştur. Bu gelişmeler bireysel ve toplumsal alanda yoksunlaşmalara yol açmıştır. Gelişmelerden medya ve özellikle dijital medya aygıtları ve platformları bireysel ve toplumsal yaşama etkisi açısından düşünüldüğünde günümüzde en öne çıkan konudur. Bu bağlamda dijital medyada süregelen kültürel değerlerin ve formların nasıl yoksunlaştırıldığı üzerine detaylıca durulmaktadır. Araştırmanın uygulama bölümünde ise dijital medya dolayımıyla ortaya çıkan kültürel yoksunlaşma sorunsalını bulgularla ortaya koymak üzere ‘Perfetti Sconosciuti’ (2016) ve uyarlaması olan ‘Cebimdeki Yabancı’ (2018) filmleri araştırmanın örneklemi olarak seçilerek, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel analiz yöntemiyle çözümlenmeye çalışılmaktadır.

Traditional cultural values and forms that organize societal and individual living spaces have been altered, transformed, and deprived through modern tools. Today, cultural deprivation continues intensely through digital media devices and platforms. In this context, this study aims to reveal the signs of cultural deprivation experienced by modern humans in the realm of digital media. In the first section, the concept of culture, its definitions as a term, nature, and functions are discussed, along with the tangible and intangible values and forms of culture. Cultural values and forms are examined in sequence according to their settlement areas and periods. Parallelly, the concept of cultural deprivation is explained. The second section focuses intensively on the relationship between modernity, bourgeois society, and cultural deprivation. The personality and character traits of the bourgeois/ bourgeoisie, which assumed the role of actor in the modern era with the Industrial Revolution and industrialization, are highlighted. From this perspective, the role of the bourgeoisie in the construction of mass society and in the process of change and transformation of cultural values and forms in the modern era is examined. The bourgeoisie has been a pioneer of many developments in the modern era. These developments have led to deprivations in individual and societal domains. Considering the impact of these developments on individual and societal life, media, and particularly digital media devices and platforms, stand out as the most prominent issue today. In this context, the detailed examination of how cultural values and forms are deprived in digital media is emphasized. In the application section of the research, the cultural deprivation problem emerging through digital media is demonstrated with findings, using the films ‘Perfetti Sconosciuti’ (2016) and its adaptation ‘Cebimdeki Yabancı’ (2018) as the research sample. These films are analyzed using the descriptive analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods.
