Publication: Web tabanlı uzaktan eğitimin çalgı eğitiminde uygulanabilirliği
Abstract
Bu araştırmada, Web Tabanlı Uzaktan Eğitim (WTUE) yönteminin Güzel Sanatlar Liseleri’ne yönelik çalgı (gitar) eğitiminde uygulanabilirliğinin ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda gitar eğitimine yönelik senkron ve asenkron model kapsamında web tabanlı deneysel bir çalışma geliştirilmiş ve Marmara Üniversitesi Uzaktan Eğitim Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi’nde kullanılan Eğitim Yönetim Sistemi üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir.Araştırma, Aydın Doğan Güzel Sanatlar Lisesi’nde, 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında, iki ayrı çalışma grubuyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Web tabanlı çalgı eğitiminin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla 11. ve 12. sınıfta gitar eğitimi alan 8 öğrenci ile birinci çalışma grubu, başlangıç gitar eğitiminin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla hiç gitar eğitimi almamış 2 öğrenci ile ikinci çalışma grubu oluşturulmuştur. Birinci çalışma grubunda yer alan öğrencilerle 8 hafta süresince, ikinci çalışma grubunda yer alan öğrencilerle 4 hafta süresince gitar eğitimi dersleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Karma yöntemin kullanıldığı araştırmada, öntest–sontest eşleştirilmiş kontrol gruplu seçkisiz gerçek deneysel desen nicel yöntem kapsamında, görüşme ve gözlem teknikleri nitel yöntem kapsamında uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada, gitar performans dereceleme ölçeği (GPDÖ), başlangıç gitar eğitimi temel davranışlar değerlendirme formu, bireysel çalgı dersi tutum ölçeği, gitar dersi başarı testi (GDBT), yapılandırılmış ders gözlem formu ve görüşme formu veri toplama araçları olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, nicel verilerin toplanmasında kullanılan öntest ve sontestler, istatistiksel analiz yöntemi kapsamında bağımsız iki grup ortalamaları arasındaki farkın önemlilik testinin nonparametrik karşılığı olan Mann Whitney U testi ile, bağımlı iki grup ortalamaları arasındaki farkın önemlilik testinin nonparametrik karşılığı olan Wilcoxon testi ile analiz edilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Deneysel çalışma ile ilgili öğrenci görüşleri betimsel analiz yöntemi kapsamında analiz edilmiş, yapılan analiz sonucu belirlenen temalar ve kodlar yorumlanmıştır. Gözlem tekniği ile elde edilen veriler yapılandırılmış ders gözlem formu kullanılarak analiz edilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre;• WTUE yöntemiyle öğrenim gören öğrencilerle, geleneksel eğitim yöntemiyle öğrenim gören öğrencilerin GPDÖ sontest puanları arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı, bununla birlikte öğrencilerin almış oldukları performans puanları değerlendirildiğinde geleneksel eğitim yöntemine göre WTUE yönteminin, öğrencilerin performansları üzerinde daha etkili olduğu, • WTUE yöntemiyle öğrenim gören öğrencilerle, geleneksel eğitim yöntemiyle öğrenim gören öğrencilerin GDBT sontest puanları arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı, bununla birlikte öğrencilerin almış oldukları başarı testi puanları değerlendirildiğinde geleneksel eğitim yöntemine göre WTUE yönteminin, öğrencilerin başarıları üzerinde daha etkili olduğu,• WTUE yöntemiyle öğrenim gören öğrencilerle yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda WTUE yönteminin “uygulanabilir”, “kullanışlı (işlevsel)” ve “öğretim programının işlenmesinde etkili” olduğu,• Başlangıç gitar eğitimi kapsamında yapılan gözlem sonucunda WTUE yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilen başlangıç gitar eğitimi derslerinin dersin işlenişi bakımından geleneksel eğitim yöntemine göre herhangi bir farklılık oluşturmadığı,• Güzel Sanatlar Lisesi çalgı (gitar) eğitimi programının WTUE yöntemiyle uygulanabildiği ve bu yöntemin geleneksel çalgı eğitimine alternatif olarak kullanılabileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
In this research, it is aimed to demonstrate the applicability of the Web Based Distance Learning (WBDL) method in instrumental (guitar) training for Fine Arts High Schools. For this purpose, a web based experimental study on synchronous and asynchronous model for guitar education was developed and applied through the Learning Management System used in Distance Education Center of Marmara University. The research was carried out with two study groups in Aydın Doğan Fine Arts High School in 2017-2018 academic year. In order to evaluate the web based instrument training, 8 students who get guitar education in 11th and 12th classes were formed as thefirst study group and 2 students who didn’t get any guitar education were formed as the second study group in order to evaluate the initial guitar education. Guitar training courses were performed for 8 weeks with the first study group and 4 weeks with the second study group. In the research using mixed method, interview and observation techniques were applied within the scope of qualitative method, and real experimental design with pre-test and post-test matched control group were applied within the scope of quantitative method. In the study, guitar performance rating scale (GPRS), initial guitar training basic behavior assessment form, individual instrument lesson attitude scale, guitar lesson achievement test (GLAT), structured course observation form and interview form were used as data collection tools. In the research, the pretest and posttest used in the collection of quantitative data were analyzed and interpreted by the Mann Whitney U test, which is the nonparametric test forthe significance test of the difference between two independent groups averages, and the Wilcoxon test, which is the nonparametric test for the significance test of the difference between two dependent groups averages. Students' opinions about the experimental study were analyzed within the scope of descriptive analysis method and the analyzed themes and codes were interpreted. The data obtained by the observation technique wereanalyzed and interpreted using the structured observation form. According to the results of this research;• it was concluded that there was no statistically significant difference between GPRS posttest scores of the students who were trained by the WBDL method and the traditional education method but the performance scores of the students who were educated by the WBDL were higher than the performance scores of the students who were educated by the traditional education method.• It was found that there was no statistically significant difference between GLAT posttest scores of the students who were educated by the WBDL method and the traditional education method but the lesson achievement scores of the students who were educated WBDL were higher than the lesson achievement scores of students who were educated traditional education method.• As a result of interviews with the students who were educated by the WBDL method, it was concluded that the WBDL method is applicable, useful (functional) and effective in the processing of the teaching program.• As a result of the observations made within the scope of initial guitar training, it was concluded that the initial guitar training courses conducted by the WBDL method did not make any difference according to the traditional education method.• it was concluded that instrument (guitar) training program of The Fine Arts High School can be applied using the WBDL method and this method can be used as an alternative to traditional instrument training.
